It's going to be 80 degrees today!!

I'm finally going to be comfortable. I can't tell you all how I love the sun and the warmth and can't stand the cold!

And I'll be whining about how hot I am! I hate the heat!!

You and my hubby would get along well. He always complains I can at least pile on more clothes to be warm- but it doesn't feel like heat accumulates in my layers of clothes, and he doesn't believe me.

I would much rather be sweating and feel that pinch of the sun than the I-can't-breathe of the cold.

So, it's warm this morning, right? You know what that means, don't you? Betcha don't...

It means I went out barefoot and it's the first oh-my-Lord-chicken-poop-between-the-toes of the year!! Ewwwwwww!!!!

Yuck I always hated that....even as a kid it grossed me out. I've got windows open all over the house already.......hmmmmm I wonder if my AC is good to go. I might need it today.....especially with this humidity.

For anyone near Perry/Lawrence/KC area- I've got a recipe I use for a whole grain feed that is 17.5% protein, all of it accessible, digestible protein. This is only 15% corn, with over a dozen grains and oyster mixed in. There is fish protein and there are spices, plus quinoa and Austrian peas, etc. The quinoa is the only ingredient I'm positive is organic, as it's among several ingredients I buy and take to the mill to have mixed in- this is mixed with UltraKibble.

This feed goes a LOT farther than the typical commercial feed, and the birds show the difference. It's mixed for my breeders and is wonderful for keeping them healthy.

I'm about to make an order and thought if anyone else was wanting some, that I could have some added to the order. It's running $23 per 50# bag. I'll probably have a half-ton or more mixed up, as there are a bunch of folks around here that love this mix for its longevity and whole grains. The birds love it, and the poop is way less in quantity.

Let me know right away. chookschick (at) gmail.com

Wow - I am back on the internet and I have missed so much.

I have a banty who has been broody for about 2 weeks now - watching her closely. lol - poor lil thing has about 15 eggs under her - cause every time she got up to eat - they were coming in and laying more in her nest. I know she won't hatch em all - but I hate to bug her - she gets fussy... I marked them so I will see if any new ones show up so I can get em out. None of them are hers - so she will have a bunch of chicks grow up to be bigger than momma... (I made sure no banty eggs - don't want em)

I haven't tapped my trees - cause I got too busy and forgot. Is it too late?

I ordered a bunch of trees from burgess nursery - anyone ever tried them? Are they reliable? They say they don't ship until April - so I am nervous of course...

beautiful weather on a work day - should be illegal! Oh well - with daytime savings I should still have time to till my garden up a little...

So... how's everyone?
