Consolidated Kansas

Hi Marty, and everyone,
Just got in from checking eggs for the last time tonight, and I forgot my gloves. As usual, I ended up doing some minor things to the coop, crawled inside and was messing around, adding cup hooks to keep the heat-lamp wires tidy and out of the way. After about 10 min it occurred to me; I wasn't at all cold. Even my hands were warm, and the chickens didn't seem to mind the close quarters with me in there. My coops may not be pretty, but inside they are clean, dry, and cozy. Makes me sleep better on those frigid, windy nights. It's so nice to tuck them in and know they are warm and safe.

Ok, warm, fuzzy moment over

Ottawa? You're like 30 min from me, if I haven't said it before. Bad memory, ya know!

Hi Everyone! Carol, glad to hear the babies are doing good. I am going through cochin withdrawl as I found homes for all the rest of the gang a few weeks ago. I still would like eggs when we move if we are able to have chickens. Anybody want a house in Pomona? Ottawa, hello....wow, I didn't realize that there were BYC'ers this close....

Hello everyone; Bonner Springs here. Just some spotty sun comming out today. Just remodeled my enclosed pen so my girls can get away from the young "getto" roos. Just have 18 birds and 4 young roos. They just realized there boys and think the path to getting some is rape. I am not sure how long I can put up with them; does it ever get any better? I have made some really good chicken and dumplings these last weeks. May be time for more.
Oh well Welcome Kansaseq, and hello cricketsilkie, Glad to have you attached to the thread.
