Consolidated Kansas

There are several kinds of livestock panels and several gauges. I buy ones that are like 52 inches and they are called livestock panels and commonly called cattle panels. They just have a few bars closer together at the bottom. Now I do have a bunch of hog panels that are only about 3 feet high and a much heavier gauge. They are so heavy I can't even drag them. There are also horse panels which are more expensive and have all the holes the same size. Shop around. You can usually find some panels on sale for around $20 each.
I worked on my hoop coop again today. I got the bottom of the second coop wall in. I also got the doorway cut on the first panel. I hope to get the rest of the walls done and start making doors tomorrow. It all depends on how much else I do.
I let the baby ducks out so I could move their pen today. They did really well sticking around. I was very happy because what they can eat out of the yard saves me some money.
I also let out the midget white turkeys for the first time ever. I just didn't know what to expect. I was so proud of them. They seemed to want to be near where I was working. And then this evening when I put new food in for them they put themselves back in the pen. DH has never paid much attention to them and I think he fell in love with them today. He said, they are so tame. That is awesome. He usually complains my birds are too wild.

How are you all doing in KS with all the storms. My grandson lives in Moore, OK and he has no apartment to go to but he is safe as he was on a date in another town when it hit. I have a son in Ada but haven't heard yet how he made out.

I'm so happy to hear he's OK. I have some extended family in Mustang and they think the tornado came within 2 miles of their place. They need a new roof due to the hail, but they're all OK.

We only got heavy rain and a bit of small hail in McPherson. I've had my computer off for a couple of days because of all the lightning. I hope everyone is healthy and didn't have any storm damage.

I'm sorry about your grandson's apartment, but glad he is safe, thank goodness he wasn't there at the time. It seems like Oklahoma sure gets hit a lot, especially right around Oklahoma City. It makes me nervous because my son lives there, but right now he's out driving most of the time. Dana is still there though. Today he was driving into Texas & was dodging storms down there, not good. Tornadoes are so devastating when they hit, especially as big & powerful as that one was that hit Moore, OK, it was just huge.

On the Kansas Farm swap on FB there are people posting about horses that need to be transported to safe places from the area that was hit. It's so sad to think of all of the devastation there & deaths of people & animals.

It has been awhile but I am popping on to say hi. I hope everyone is well and the storms did not damage too much. My internet has been off and now (for now) I have a dial up service so I can pop on. It is slow but hey its something. My sons science class hatched eggs and they did a couple turkey and they gave us one. This little Narragansett would sit and stare at my son in class and the teacher asked the person who provided the eggs if she could give her to us. She said after our turkey passed she noticed how it effected my son and it broke her heart so she was in aw at how this poult reacted to him and would snuggle into his arms and go to sleep. Here at home "Aries" will "peep peep peep" until you come and get her and she will snuggle up and go to sleep. She just loves to be held. And especially loves my son. I am thankful and blessed to have such caring teachers..
