Consolidated Kansas

SURE! I'm getting a few built up. The ones in the incubator I have candled and have 100% fertility so far. They are starting to lay better, and I still have all 4 hens right now and will be keeping them until Becky gets her pens re-arranged the way she wants them.

Beside the golden lakenvelders I have some nice partridge wyandotte bantams and black copper marans eggs if anyone is interestd.

I'll let folks know about the others, too- nothing like sending a large assorted box!

If you give them a protein boost, like a can of tuna, it may get them over the dip in production from moving- they'll go gaga for it!!

I don't know how it could boost them up much more.... got 4 eggs out of 4 hens yesterday and the day before, but I'm sure they would LOVE the tuna. All my chickens get treats of some kind (not every day) and they all go nuts for them. Who needs a compost pile when you got two legged-feathered composters!

Katy do you use your tractor?

For my garden? We have this little mini disk that fits behind our smallest tractor that will fit in my garden space, but so far he hasn't gotten it hooked up for me so I'll probably just use my little tiller......a pain in the butt.

Yes, for your garden. Make a nice dinner and invite the boys, and while they are there say..."Oh while you are here, could one of you hook up the mini disk to the little tractor?" You get to see the kids and don't have to mess with a little tiller.

The blue eggs were hard to see anything in, but so far the remaining silkies are growing. I think I am just going to limit turning on them. That way to keep the air cell where it should be. Good thing about hatching in cartons.

2 more are drying off and another 2 are on the way but today is day 22. This has been a disappointing hatch but I have another 2dz. due next Saturday so maybe my % will come up.

He finally disked it for me this morning...YAY! Now I'll just have to till around the edges where the disk can't reach.

Are those Brahmas? Cool Stull-I love all the crazy ghost stories there, still a great area I drive through all the time when Im out at Clinton

B/B/S Plymouth rocks. Sadly the old stone chapel at the Stull cemetery was knocked down some years ago, too many people out there looking for the paranormal I guess.

Hello everyone!

I currently have two full-grown RIRs and two 7 week old RIR pullets. My question is when should I move the newbies outdoors and when should I try integrating them in with the other two hens? I figured I would ask the KS list since we all have about the same weather conditions. Let me know! Thanks!
