Consolidated Kansas

Good morning peeps.

Since Sharol brought up the worming topic, I went home to make sure I've some Safeguard on hand and for the life of me, I could not find it. I have a box with tons of stuff in it just for birds but Safeguard Goat wormer was not in the box. I remember using it this past Spring to worm the birds so I may have misplaced it some where. I hate going to the store to get another bottle because like everyone said, it's expensive. Since I plan on worming the birds when they slow down their laying, I supposed I can wait a little while.

Trish, glad your mean BR roo is gone. I was getting a killing cone from a neighbor but in the last minute, she backed out of the deal. I have been using an old orange cone from road construction (don't know where it came from, I thought DH brought it home by accident one day so I decided to use it ). It was not a good cone so I wanted to get a metal one instead. Well, I guess I'll have to either get it from Amazon or eBay.

Cooler weather for the next few days so it will be a good time to get some outside chores done. I think the warm weather will be back though according to the forecast. And of course, no rain. I think NE KS gets the rain but us in South Central KS get nothing. That's what the weatherman said. We sure could use some rain. It's bone dry here.

Have a good day!
LOL Just buy a new bottle and go to put it away. You will find the old one. It is dry here (near Emporia) too, but they got serious rain north and south of us.

Isn't THAT the truth!

We just had a heckuva storm. It was one where the rain was coming down so hard it obscured the view for much past the front windows and the gutters were overflowing in seconds after it started because they couldn't keep up with it. My rain barrel was empty but I'm sure it is full again now.

I butchered another duckling this morning. Luckily I got up early and had already brought him in and was working in the kitchen when the skies opened up. The storm occurred about the time I normally am just getting started and that would have been really messy. Needless to say the remaining ducks are having a blast playing in the puddles.

Yup, I was thinking if I get a new bottle, the old one will show up.

Right after I typed up the post above, just like Hechicken said, the sky just opened up. It was hailing here by the office and it kept coming down for a good 15 minutes. This will help because Rural Water District 1 has a break in the main some where so we have no running water and I was wondering how to fill up the water bowls for the birds. This will probably help at least until we have water again.

It's been raining here since last night off and on. We just had a huge storm. One of those that will produce several inches an hour. My workers are out trying to build and finally had to take cover. My yard looks like a lake and I am sure the basement will be flooding soon cause there was no way those gutters were going to keep up. One more mess to clean up!! The whole yard looks like a lake. I sure hope I don't have birds drown. Some don't have great shelter for when it rains like this. I guess I should run out and check in between storms.
This cooler wet weather incapacitates me. My joints and muscles literally shake due to the swelling and pain.

I hope they get your water line fixed soon so you can have water again, that's really a pain. Every time it happens here you automatically go to get water for something & then remember you can't. The things we take for granted.... We did have some rain here but I don't know how much. At least maybe the bushes & plants I planted got watered.

Hello all! Danz it is good to see your building going up. Very exciting!

Storms came through this morning and left behind major damage. Lots of crops leveled and homes and buildings with lots of damage or blown away. Close by they had hail 8 inches deep and that was not drifts, just that deep. We faired okay but I feel so bad for others.
