Consolidated Kansas

Tina, Missouri. It's a small animal auction listed in Kansas city cl if you need details.

So sorry, I looked it up and it's east of st joe. In st. Jo cl. They are all over except my area, how frustrating!

There is one in Joplin this weekend. I'm not allowed by BYC rules to post a link here but if you go to the Joplin Craigslist under Farm & Garden you will find the flier.

I just got so excited! That's only about a 25 min drive for me. Praise the almighty chicken!

@Prairie Fleur
  - I have all kinds of things I would like to get from Azure. Around the KC area, the drop offs are during weekdays which doesn't mesh with work/school. Frustrating!

That Is frustrating!! I love azure and get something from them every months almost. My MIL and SIL often do too and we live close enough together that only one us goes to pick it all up and then we pick it up from them. It definitely saves driving and really helps if one of us can't make it.

Prairie, if one of your girls goes broody just channel a few more eggs under her to make her hatch them closer to one date and let her give it a try. Cheaper than an incubator. My daughter has never purchased an incubator. She lets me know when she has a broody and I ship eggs to her. Other than when the postal service has destroyed them she's had remarkable hatches.

Yes it is the 14th. People come from all over the U.S. to the Gardner auction. The fall auction was the smallest one yet so I expect this spring auction to be huge. I expect it to last well into late evening.

I'm actually seriously looking at checking into becoming a feed dealer. Not sure if it is doable or not. My problem at this point is having something powerful enough to offload pallets of feed. I have an idea for storage.... which would be more expense but that way I could sell some to the locals or my customers as well. I have to get a lot more information first. I've been trying to find a Bobcat I can afford so I can use it here for projects and also unload feed.

I'll have to try using a broody if I can get one of them to decide to set. My rooster is at least 6 months old; is that old enough to for sure fertilize the eggs? I definitely have rooster damage on my hens altho it's getting better now that more of them are laying. Is there a way to encourage them to go broody? Is it picky how the eggs are stored before she starts setting?

Well Yates has listed pied peafowl on their consignments and I know a guy taking a black shoulder cock.
I don't quite understand their salebill tho as to when the peas sell.

Danz if you sell orp hatching eggs, I would love to buy some off you when I get a broody if you ever do that.
Oh question, today is such a pretty day it's given me spring fever! Is it too early to plant onion sets??
