Can anyone tell me where to take a cutting of a plant to find out if it's harmful to Chickens as I really don't have grass in my backyard I have this ground cover that has blue purple flowers on it during spring and summer. Thank you

What is the best laying chicken

If you want a chicken that will lay eggs consistently and if you aren't concerned about how many years you get out of them I would recommend a red sex link, red star, or cinnamon queen depending on what the hatcheries are calling them. But you'll probably only get about 2 years of laying out of them.
If you want white eggs a good ole leghorn is about the best bet, but again you loose time they will lay and they won't be calm birds that you'd want as pets either.

Why don't you take a picture of it and post it. Closer the better. Chickens are pretty smart and won't generally eat toxic food.

I think its a kind of clover as it isn't a vine
