Consolidated Kansas

Do you still have this rooster? I'm looking for one like him within easy driving range of Augusta Kansas.

What kind of rooster are you looking for? I have a beautiful heritage, breeder quality New Hampshire Red who has been ostracized from my flock by my turkey tom, so he now lives up at the house and I feed him outside my back door. He is a great rooster and has always courted the hens rather than chasing them down and raping them. He won't eat a treat - he calls the hens over to eat it. I feel bad for him that he got beaten up by the tom and lost confidence to return to the flock, but can't continue to have him living outside my back door so I need to either find him another home or butcher him. I'm real close to you by the sound of it. PM me if you are interested in him.

I've managed to get a sinus infection and it's going into my lungs. I feel awful. I really don't have time to feel sick right now. I've got another very busy day ahead of me. I will be so glad when I have time to relax a little. Does that ever happen?

danz I'm ready for a rest from hatching & taking care of chicks for sure. I'll be glad when I only have my own I'm growing out to care for. I'll be completely done hatching by the end of the month, that is if I don't have to hatch bantams for a couple of people. I wish they would hurry up & get back to laying so I could get that over with. I have orders for 18 of them but they will get whatever I hatch.

I got half of the breeder coop cleaned out so far but need to finish with that & then comes the main coop that is the big job.

Uh-oh, I think I messed up the post...I was trying to reply to a post about a Blue Orpington Rooster, by Sharol? This is kind of my first time using this site, so I guess I have a few things to learn about how these posts work, lol. (Maybe I should also stop trying to use my iPad for this...^_^;) Anyway, sorry for the confusion!

Your Rooster sounds lovely, and looks beautiful, HEChicken, I really hope you find someone to give him a worthy home!

I didn't remember Sharol posting about a blue Orpington rooster. I have a very nice one as well if that doesn't pan out.

(Okay, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this! ^o^) The post was from back in January, so it wasn't too surprising when she told me he already has a new home (I just got the reply from a PM I sent her).
Since that didn't pan out, I WOULD like to hear more about your rooster! :D

@GuardiolaChicks I've also got several young roosters for cheap & I'm just down the road from you on the north edge of Winfield. I have pure bred Welsummers, Silver Penciled Rocks, a Buff/Mille Fleur Leghorn & two Cream Legbars. I may have a few younger Speckled Sussex as well but they're much younger than the others.

Too busy these days. My poor birds aren't even getting the normal attention. I really need a few weeks to get them organized but I have other issues pressing right now. I'll be so glad when life can get back to normal again. I am so tired these days and the days go so fast.
Hope every one else is doing well.

Boy can I relate to that, me too! It's been kind of crazy lately here as well. Our old appliances are starting to give out & we had to go shop for a fridge, stove, & microwave yesterday. I have to order what I want so it will take about 10 days to get them. Those appliances are 19 years old that I have now, so I guess we were very lucky. My washer & dryer are 25 years old & they will be next to replace.

I'm trying to clear out the extra chicks I have & get down to just my own I'm growing out but it's going slowly. I have some really nice pure bred chicks right now, none of my breeding stock are hatchery birds. I have way too many chicks here right now for sure.
