All I have are roosters and cockerels.

1 Splash Orpington Rooster (Hinkjc)
1 sussex cockerel
2 Blue Ameraucana x Orpington cockerel
3 Blue Ameraucana cockerel
3 Welsummers cockerel
3 BCM cockerel (Jeane/Presley lines)
1 Black Jersey Giant (Hatchery Stock)

Some of these are very nice looking but I don't like breeding bother to sister or son to mother.

We have had good luck with Estes in Springfield Mo. We have gone down there and picked up chicks and they are the ones that provide chicks to the Orsheln in Louisburg Ks... G'Luck!!

Here is my progress so far this morning! I bought the 3/4" 4X8ft subflooring. And WOW is it heavy! I had to use my wagon and shift a side on to it and then slowly drag it on the wagon and haul it up into the garage. From there, I still could not lift it and had to do a lot of shifting and moving around it to get it on the saw horses. I am dying of heat and sweating my bootie off. How does ANYone work in this heat?? I am feeling VERY sorry for all those road people out working on our highways right now. ANyway, I have two coats of Porch Paint on the first piece. I have two more of these suckers to go. I think I'm just going to paint the bottoms of them and worry aobut painting the tops when I get it screwed in. It's too hard to manuever to worry about flipping each piece right now. Bleah.

I got mine at Orsheln in Topeka. They came from Estes hatchery in MO. So far all 5 look like they will be pullets. I don't know if Orsheln will be getting any more, but they had chicks last fall, you might call them. The chick lady is very knowledgeable and they keep them locked up so people can't switch them to other bins.

I have posted pictures in the EE Braggers thread if you are interested in looking at how they have turned out. It was post #4522 on page 453 https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=273489&p=453 They have been strong and healthy so far.

I was afraid that Orsheln only had them in the spring, so I'm wrong? Thanks for the help! I'm going over there today to price corrugated roofing and other misc supplies. I'll be sure to berate them with questions while I'm there.

I think you are making good progress, especially considering this heat! Gosh, sometimes all I get done in a day (besides working) are my regular chores. I work crazy hours, so usually the time I am doing chores outside is during the hottest part of the day. It makes it not so much fun. I could really use a few days off work and some cooler weather.

Hola! I'm in town and have some juveniles available. 4-14 weeks, depending on breed.

Email me and we can chat. Do you have your set up all ready? These are outside and happy. I'll have more new chicks in 2 weeks and they'll need to brood inside for a bit.

Does this heat make you all feel like you just get NOTHING done? I think I'm at about 20% efficiency, like my brain is cooked. But then again, my brain might be cooked...

Uh, YEAH! I've been talking gibberish all morning because I'm so tired and HOT. I'm really slow and I keep hitting my feet on things, I guess because maybe I'm dragging them. I have a couple of new bruises from yesterday, too from stupid stuff I did. I'm only on my second board, too of painting. I probably could have done more, but I can't lift these things. I give up for now until my DH gets home so I can lift the last one.

Yup- It's like arms and legs have sandbags tied to them and marshmallow brain is fully in place. It took three tries to type that sentence so that it wasn't full of grammatical errors, and I'm still not sure it's correct...and that's not normal for me!

I'm celebrating 16 years with my wonderful hubby today, and we're getting a close reminder of what it was like that day...104* in the shade!! Outdoor reception! WTH was I thinking?!?!?
