The faverolles aren't great layers but they are consistent. Maybe 5 out of 7 days a week on average. Not huge eggs but enough to be considered large once they get past the first few weeks of laying. What I like about them most is they are extremely gentle, tend to stick to their own breed, and of course the males are gorgeous. I'd say they are one of my favorite breeds. I like the diversity in color too. Everyone likes their muffs and fuzzy legs.

msjfrizzle, OK thanks for the reply. I just went out & found an old plastic crate in the garage & put a piece of old shingle in the bottom & filled it with straw. I don't have hay this year for nests, it got too expensive & hard to find, but the straw is working. I put the crate on the floor over by the barrel nests & one of the Barred Rocks was already checking it out before they went to roost.

Since I have a teenage rooster right now with raging hormones I had to get my four main laying hens saddles to wear because they're getting bare spots. They're Big Red's favorite hens in his harem. I went out to get everybody in & caught the ones I wanted as they were going to roost. Once I got one on the rest didn't go so bad. The hens acted a little silly after I put them back on the roost, but I guess they'll get acclimated to them. Big Red thought I was hurting his hens because they were squawking & he was threatening me, but I was just letting him know I wasn't taking anything from him, so he retreated. Has anybody ever used these before?

Danz, do you ever breed any of your Salmon Favoroles? I might be interested in some next year if you do.

Yes I do. I've produced tons of chicks. I have several more laying this year and a second rooster from a different blood line. I'd be glad to sell you some.

I may have to make a trip up there in the spring of course when it's much nicer weather & get some from you.

Yes, I do sell chicks in the spring and summer. I have some pretty nice BCM's and some very nice ameraucanas in wheaten, silver, black and lavender. The lavenders are already in big demand. I hope my girls do a good job of laying. I've got a number of other chickens (which you can read in my signature.)

Hi all! I've only had a little time this last week, but came in to say hi and see what was up, and saw you talking about chickens and had an idea.
I know, we talk about chickens, but I mean the breeds and what you have for sale etc.
There are ones that interest me too, and going back and forth though the thread can be confusing, what I thought was (if this is ok with everyone and the mods don't get offended, hope I don't overstep what I am allowed to do), but compile a list for us here in Kansas, 'cause I know I'm interested in some of the breeds you have mentioned here....and just make a page with all the info.
I really quick (and I am offering my services here) made one page for chickens attached to my site; and would be willing to put the info on my site for ease of access.....
You could either PM or email the info, and if you think there needs to be more than this, let me know, but I was trying to be simple...I was thinking basic info, like
