That would be the link, don't know if they would want to attach it to BYC, or we would just share it among ourselves here; it would be a compiled list, it was a thought, any ideas or suggestions welcomed, I was just reading threads and thinking I'd like that or that would be kewl. Trying to figure out where everyone is etc, was getting confusing going back and forth.... lol

Many of us have our list of what we breed listed on our page. I don't mind putting some info out there as long as I don't include an actual physical address. City is ok. My list is ever changing but I've always got chicks of some kind. I think it would be nicest to have something we could update day to day.

I like the idea. I think the link should be accessed through BYC, though. I think it's something that should be taken up with admin. I don't know if it would be something that we would have to pay BCY to do or not. It sounds like it would be comparable to a "breeders list" similar to what a lot of the breed clubs put a link to on their websites.

It would be nice for someone wanting to get chickens or expand their stock to be able to see a list of people to contact in the area.

For breed club lists you have to be a member of that club. Maybe for BYC they could do a state-by-state listing. Perhaps a requirement might be that anyone listed would have to be a member of BYC, not just a registered user. At this point, I am just a registered user.

Isn't there already a similiar list in the Breeders and Hatcheries section? Someone has already gone to a great deal of time and effort to compile the lists there, including one by state. The info's out there, it's just not necessarily in THIS thread.

I think it's a great idea for us to have a database of breeders so we know who we can go to if we want a specific breed. I would love to know who has which breeds & where they are. Yes, most of the time we have lists on our posts, but you would have to dig through them all to find different ones & there are some people who don't post that much or are just lurkers that would be able to contribute if they wanted. We wouldn't have to put any specific address information, just town & then you could send a PM if interested in anything or to inquire.

I'm just a registered user as well. I can't afford a membership along with any other expenses I have. Maybe Candace, we could create a separate website with this information on it and make the link to it available to us here on consolidated Kansas. I am not sure BYC would condone posting a link like that for all of BYC since they insist all sales go through their auction process. We all make connections to each other just by talking but we aren't really supposed to sell here. I think it must be that way just so it doesn't become a sales site rather than an information site. Also I am sure there is some liability there for BYC. That doesn't mean however that we can't share information between us.
By the way you have a very nice website. My son has offered to build me a website for years but he spends his work days dealing with computers so I doubt he really wants to spend his off hours working for me.

I was thinking something simple and basic, it would get really detailed if BYC wanted to do state by state, and keep it updated, they'd almost need to have ppl pay for it..... I was just thinking something for quick reference; offering here for the Kansas area a quick link on my site.....as I saw allot of back and forth on who, what you have, where are you, when would it be available, in the last few posts.... no, I agree no physical address, phone would only be IF you wanted to give that out, probably best to keep it to email, then give your the phone once you establish contact..... But a listing and then if you wanted to put a link to your page back to here for more info too, that would be ok too. But do this page for what you have now or in the next month or so, I couldn't update it daily, but like monthly...and I wouldn't charge or anything, if it got too big or started taking allot of time we could reassess, but I was thinking to consolidate what everyone is looking at/for, mainly for just here, not for advertising...hope this make sense, I was offering it to help consolidate here. To help the Kansas people know where each one is...
It could be something like this; just an IDEA, and if an ADMIN sees and want to chime in that great, but I wasn't thinking of making more work for them, or taking away from them, only making it kinda like part of this thread a CONSOLIDATED KANSAS for where the chicken people are for the people in Kansas for quick reference:
