Hoping for around 30 inches in length or more. The one on CL is asking $40 OBO... and I'm going to see if I can get him down some more. A lot of people are asking for $70 and on up for these! They usually get it, too. So I feel pretty lucky if I actually get it for $40 or less. I bought my last kennel for $40 and it is HUGE! It's like the extra, extra large size. I can climb in it. Actually, I do, and I can't even reach the back of it. I have to climb in half way and then reach clear to the back to grab my silkies (that are in quarantine) when I'm taking them out. (They see me coming and huddle in the back where I can't reach them.) I don't know how long it is-- but it's a good 4 feet long or more. Anyway the lady that sold it to me just had no idea what they were worth. She had a great dane in it. I paid the cash and RAN. LOL!!

ETA-- I don't need anything that big!!! It's great for them, because they'll be in it a while.

Wow Hawkeye, did you get a deal on that one! Yeah, I would have paid & run too, just like you did. I got lucky awhile back & found a smaller crate just down the street from me that I used when my cat had a broken leg. I got a good deal on it, but nothing like you did. I know those crates do go high, but have you seen how much they are new in the stores? They should be gold plated for the prices they want for them & why I don't know, they're just wire & a plastic tray.

BRRRRRRRRR I don't like the forcast for next week, and not thinking I like the 24th and 25ths forcast either.

Hawkeye, have not read all the back posts, been super busy, did you have a chicken get sick?

On the GP's. I have never tried to break my dogs from eating the goat feed. I feed the dogs, and then feed the goats, but they will leave the dog feed and go eat with the goats. I just take it as part of being the guardian, they live, sleep, and eat with the goats. I think it is because they are so bonded with them, the goats. You cannot afford to let the pups eat the chicken feed, but I look at it as part of the bonding process. It won't be too long and they will not be able to get in the pop door.

Ivy, I cannot believe that pullet has started laying, mine have not, but they are younger. I still have a trio of rosecombs in the garage. I put them under lights, but may take 3 weeks to get them laying. Thinking about bring in a quad and put them under the lights too. Need to get a bunch of babies hatched. Need to sell some of my blue/red oe's. I have to have more room. They are such sweet birds, hate to part with them, maybe I can find a 4H'er that needs birds to show this summer.

Hope the rest of you are doing ok,

danz, hope you are starting to feel better, this winter will be rough with your surgery and everything, make the winter just last forever when you don't feel good.

Can't wait for 4:45 tommorow, our Christmas break will be ready to start. 2 WEEKS OUT OF SCHOOL!!! WOOHOO YEAH BABY I AM READY!!!!

Hi guys, thought of everyone today, been insane around here...But I went out an doe of my roosters was walking down the drive against the wind BACKWARDS, all his feathers of his long tail were blowing back around his head. I just stopped and looked at him like "???" Funny thing, I was about 20 feet from him, not close, he noticed me, made eye contact....Then stood up really straight and started waking normally. lol It was like he saw me then decided I'd embarrassed him and he needed to "act like a man"? lol And people say they don't have personalities.
haven't forgotten my offer with the site, and i'll get a page made up and post when I'm done with it for opinions and ppl that want to put thier info on it.

I DID get the pups on the site finally....You can see them here:

Hope everyone is having an awesome day and is ready for Christmas!
Blessings,
Candace

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!

Awww, Candace those are some cuties! It almost makes me want another one. I just love little babies of any kind though, it's hard for me not to bring every little baby animal home that I see. That's why I stay away from the Humane Society, I can't go there or I would want to bring all the animals home with me. I used to do that when I was a kid, my mom said I brought home every stray I found & my dad hated it. That's weird about your rooster walking that way, I've never seen one do that. I do know that they will show off for people though, I have seen mine do it when I had a lady here one day. He puffed up his chest & strutted around & then crowed for her. That was after she said what a pretty guy he was.

She isn't sick... but just really injured. But I think she's doing a little better. She has a broken beak. Will that harden up again?? Any ideas on what to do with her beak? She is eating with her head tucked to her chest. I'm guessing she has a brain injury, poor thing.

RIGHT!?! I have no clue why they want a fortune for them. Which is why I'm looking for a deal on CL! hehe!! They can be found, if you look long enough. Figured I'd start now and hope to score one cheaper than what everyone else is trying to get for theirs. The down side is that everyone else is too-- so you're lucky if you're the first person to get it.

I hope your cat is feeling better. I bet a broken leg on a cat is baaaaad news. I can imagine the growls and frustration of being locked up.

Hawkeye, yeah it wasn't a fun experience with the cat. She was one that my friend had given me & she had broken her leg when she had her. Then she broke it again recently & it was a very bad break. This time the vet I took her to here in Winfield didn't get it set right & it healed all crooked. So she has a funny looking leg, but you know that cat can run even with a crooked leg & she still even after breaking it twice has not learned not to jump off of things. I had to keep her in a crate for 8 weeks trying to get the bone to knit at all & somehow it did. By the time she got out of that crate she was so ready to be out of there. I borrowed one from a friend so she could sleep in the one I had & I pushed the other one up to it door to door so she could have her litter box in the other one. With the cast on her leg it was really awkward for her to get into the litter box. Then about 3 wks into it all the cast fell off & we just left it off because it wasn't going to make that much difference & the Vet wanted to charge another surgery charge to put it back on. So I just kept her in the crate until the bone was knitted enough for her to walk on it. You would think the silly cat would learn, but she doesn't seem to. I guess she has a reason to be kind of ornery at times. I hope you find a good deal on a crate, good luck with that.
