Danz, you reminded me that the shelf liner is what I was planning to use

After DH suggested the towel, it occurred to me the shelf liner would be even better and I have a roll of it already. But this morning I was so shocked to find pips I didn't expect that the idea went totally out the window and I just grabbed a towel. I will have to remember that for next time. Actually, what I might do is cut a few pieces to fit and leave them sitting in the incubator room and that way when I need to grab something in a hurry, they will be good to go.

A third pipped while I was in the shower but it pipped the wrong end - I hope it will be okay. It has made rather a large pip and I can see it breathing but I dunno.

Gosh, this thread has been pretty quiet recently! Today has been quite the day. First, I started the day off by having a case of baby brain, where I completely forgot the farrier was coming today and I let the horses out of the lot and then had to go get them. Then, I was on the phone with a coworker and looked out my office window to see a good-sized snake stretched out under the tree outside my window. Thankfully, it turned out to be a bull snake and NOT a rattlesnake, but it scared me nonetheless. And, finally, it has finally decided to rain here! We got caught by the edge of a severe thunderstorm and it is currently raining! Gosh, I hope it lasts, we REALLY need this rain! I got the birds put in their house, just in time apparently, as I got kinda wet trying to put the truck in the shed, where it doesn't really fit, but I stuck it in there catty-whompous as best I could. Hopefully, it'll be good enough if it hails.

The first batch of storms has passed us and left us with .42" of rain!!!!!!!!!!

That's WAY more rain than we've gotten at one time in at least a year. Yay for some much needed moisture!!!! We've even got a few puddles! Haven't seen those in a LONG time!

I was adopted as a toddler... the other day, by a weird series of events,53 years later, I unexpectedly found my birth mother! I have tons and tons of family... siblings, uncles, aunts, etc etc and everyone has been so kind and welcoming; this has been a blessing absolutely beyond words.

But - what I find fascinating is she lived on a chicken farm! She said they had about 25,000 layers and collected over 18,000 eggs a day!! It was a big farm production for sure... I can't even imagine feeding, caring for and collecting so many eggs every single day!!

I now spend my mornings having coffee and chatting with my birthmother on facebook - what a difference one single day can make in a person's life..

Lizzy so glad you got some rain. We had a few sprinkles but it only lasted a couple minutes. That was fine with me because I was trying to work on my hoop coop and had lots of tools out.
This was one of those days I felt my age. I am exhausted. Time to go kick the feet up!!!
22qzoo, Love your fence design by the way. And all the green grass. We just have mostly weeds after two years of no rain.

Can one of my fellow Kansanites help me please? I am incubating chicken eggs and today is day 10 and I found three that have the air sack at the bottom, can I turn them over at this point? They were shipped and I am new and didn't notice till today when I was checking them again. What is the best thing to do at this point?

Go ahead and incubate them as you have been. Did you have them set upside down? At this point there isn't much you can do about it. They can still hatch sometimes but it is more difficult. If you can lay them on their side to finish incubating instead of sitting upright I think that might help your chances.
