I have a buff orpington that is 26 weeks or so that's comb is looking a bit floppy. Everything else about her looks good. Is that something I should be concerned about? I'm doing DE in their feed (not much, just sprinkling it in), DE in their litter, and ACV in their water.
Also, going back to an old post, I'd asked for suggestions on how to monitor water usage in their summer waterer, a 4" PVC pipe with drinking cups. 22qZoo suggested a simple float and fishing line solution. I used a few fishing bobbers on the inside. Just a little piece of plastic on the outside, something the birds shouldn't be able to hurt. Here's the finished product and it works great!! Thanks for the suggestion, it's pretty straight-forward but I wasn't coming up with it.
I'm not in the process of building something freeze-proof, I don't think I can keep the PVC arm on this from freezing so I'm going with a heated bucket and supposedly drip free nipples... we'll see.
