Consolidated Kansas

Does anyone know where I can Buy water nipples in Wichita or near. I know I can order from online but I would like to buy local. I looked at Track supply and Atwoods and nothing.
Atwoods in Andover sells buckets that already have the nipples in them if that helps.

It has been freezing mist here too. I would really rather that than snow, since we need the moisture so desperately.

maybe they need some Barry White

Opportunistic is right!! I think they especially enjoy things that they can "pick" at relentlessly that doesn't move too much. Our birds have been ranging all the way out into the horse pasture since we started feeding the geldings oats at night! They go out there and spread all that horse manure out, love it because it saves me having to harrow it!

22qZoo - chickens are really opportunistic eaters. They will continue to go after scraps and treats, even when their crop looks quite full, as while they were sleeping it will empty and be digested. Don't worry that they are lacking protein, just because they seem to want the dog's deer leg. They would want it no matter how much protein they had already ingested that day...

Hoping for no surgery for you too!
Well I got through the MRI, so I guess the Dr will have results on Monday. I'm hoping for no surgery on the knee.

My big bears had much needed baths last weekend and were looking all white and gorgeous. Excuse Molly looking frightened, she is not a big camera fan!

I got up this morning and there was just under 6" of snow on the ground. We are forecast to get up to another 3 or 4 inches tonight with more snow forecast for tomorrow and again on Monday night. It is going to be a COLD few days!

My beautiful BC Marans cockerel has a new home. He will have 6 hens of his own that are about his age and hatched at home, and he will be free ranging soon. Much better life for a nice bird.

Your dog Molly acts like my Jasmine, she never has liked cameras much, it makes you wonder what they think they are. It took me a long time to ever get pics of her, I usually have to catch her unaware for a minute. Oh wow Amelia looks like she's having a lot of fun, she's getting so big!

I know I've seen the already made buckets at Atwoods also in Derby, but I just haven't seen just nipples alone. You can buy them very cheap on eBay online.

I'm not looking forward to this weather again, ugh that will mean it will be really hazardous for me to even go outside with me not being steady on my feet that much yet. I really need some of those Yaktrax things for my shoes. The lady at the medical supply here in Winfield has double total knees & she said she got some for her shoes & they really help.

Dang, its starting to snow here.

No snow here yet, but my toes are frozen. I have the furnace set at 63 so it will kick on when the fire place can't keep up. It's been coming on all day.

It is Chinese New Year today and my staff gave me a gift. She knows I like chicken so I took a picture of the ceramic egg and a magnet to share with you guys/gals. The picture turned out to be a bit crooked and darker than I like but it's my phone camera so I can't complain much.

Happy Chinese New Year! The picture came out fine; I really like the magnet. It was nice of your staff to think of you, and to make an effort to find something related to your interests. Too often, those office gifts are sort of generic.

I hope so, too.

Oh my stars, she's cute!

I'm glad you found a good home for him.

I have something like Yaktrax that I got from QVC. I've only been able to use them twice, but they really did help.

My dogs always duck their heads and slink away when I have a camera. They act like I am going to shoot them with it.
Amelia is such a cherub. Why the heck did you have to move away?? Fingerpaints? Are they edible ones?

Well my DH got out of bed and fixed a lean to shelter that had gotten knocked down in the high wind. Then he offered to water the birds for me. I don't know why but I thought it was awesome!! I need to do something special for him to show him how much I appreciate it. We've been getting freezing mist. Although the temp wasn't as low it seemed bitterly cold out there. The birds thought so too and decided not to leave eggs today.

He is going to be a flock rooster. She is talking about giving him a couple of pullets at some point, but his hens are RIR's she hatched this last summer.

I'm just glad he is going to have a good home with someone who loves chickens.
