Consolidated Kansas

Does anyone know where to get Call ducklings? My SIL is looking for some and I'm considering getting some as well.

I'm tickled pink. Willow is gaining weight, eating well and growing in a whole new coat of fur! :D she and London spend most of the day sleeping and they play and guard at night. She's working out wonderfully!

That's great Prairie Fleur. Winston still hasn't gained much weight but he is doing a good job. I still need to get him in for shots and stuff.
I guess it's time for everything to start mating season. I could sure do without the dumb predators though.

Chicken danz, I would love to see pics but I really don't need any roosters so I should probably behave myself. I only have 3 hens left and they are old, although I would love to get back into them. My sister hates the big ones, she likes cute and small. Probably just wishful thinking.

Kskingbee, looks like you had plenty of help digging. Too bad that warm weather didn't hold, my birdies are huddled now and I feel the same. Sure wished winter was done with.

Trisha good luck on your surgery and fast healing!

Ralph, funny sign! :)

Tara never heard of Scott's dumpys but they look adorable! Good luck finding some.

Anyone I missed happy thoughts going out to all!

I would like to add a couple more showgirls to my flock for sure. Lot of folks have silkies but no showgirls. :(

I have had the same problem with Showgirls. I haven't been able to find any local. There is a BYCer on the Okie thread that has some awesome NN, but the Showgirls are tough to find.

My little showgirl. I found her in the coop last week not feeling well and brought her in. She had mites and possibly tapeworm? I am really fighting the tapeworm. I dosed her with oregano oil/olive oil mix and gave her a bath. She is still shaking her head a lot so possibly ear mites???? Anyone familiar?

Here is the poor dear after her bath.

Next day she is back out running around and feeling better now.

I lost my roo but he was poor quality and related to my girls. I just have this and one other white lookalike hen right now at 3 years old. She had 2 children this summer but neither were nn. One was hen, 1 roo. The hen seemed to have caught some kind of crusty eye thing from the feral cats and was basically blind at hatch. Every time I would dropper her eyes, she could see again. She was a very pretty little pullet but died during my hospital stay as I couldn't keep eye on her to make sure she could find food. :(

Have you tried adding digestive enzymes to his food? It may help him digest his food. Just a thought tho. I'm adding digestive aids and several other things to Willows food and doing Lots of fish oil. Her coat is Much better already. It was painfully dry and thin and it's starting to wave a bit in a few places like Londons. I'm doing a homeopathic wormer as well and it's working great so far. She's happy and enthused and it's regularly wearing London out! :) he's not used to so much exercise. lol maybe it'll turn some of his fat into muscle. :)

Don't know if this would help or not, but my cats get ear mites. Coating their ears with a thin layer of oil suffocated the mites. I got a garlic ear oil to use on them but I often forget to do it. :(

Isn't head shaking also a symptom of gapeworm? I don't have a lot of experience with parasites at this point. There is SO much that can cause a chicken to get sick

, and they all have the same syptoms it seems!

She is a beauty though!
