Well you're getting short on time now Trish. It will be so much better once your surgery is over. I think as we age we must loose a sense of balance to some extent. I fall all the time. I swear I can trip over a hair. And I don't think our bodies give nearly as much as they used to. Too bad we can't turn back the aging process.
Well if your sheep have babies without you attending I hope they do well. I'd be super excited if I were you. I love babies of any kind.

That eye thing in cats is usually a virus & it spreads very easily. I have had momma cats spread it to their kittens & it's a mess to keep their little eyes cleaned up. If they can get through it they will usually be OK but it does sometimes kill them.

Well I'm sure not looking forward to this surgery on Monday but if it will eventually get my knee better I need to do it. I've been in pain for two months now & it's just wearing on you. I had the same surgery on my other knee two years ago. I've just hurt myself more these last few years than I have in my whole life, especially the last two years. I had to have surgery two years ago for my right knee because I tore my meniscus, then last year I broke my right fibula, now I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. This has to stop, enough already!

There is cat herpes. I am sure that is what you were told about Sharol. It's one of the viruses that cause that.
So today was a sad day. I've been out once again digging a grave. We had our cat Milk, put to sleep today. She was 18 years old and has been battling cancer for probably 8 years or so. It's been mostly affecting her side which caused a huge ulceration. But recently it had advanced to ulcerating above one eye leaving an opening. Her mind has been gone for the most part for over a year so I am sure it just grew enough to open up the skin. This was unexpected. We have talked about it over and over but today DH decided it was the day. As I said goodbye she was very sweet and loveable . A change from her questionable mental state. Maybe she knew I was saying goodbye. It's very hard to say goodbye to a special pet after all these years.

Yeah it's coming faster than I would like, but yet it's better to just get it over with because I have less time to brood about it. Oh I know my balance gets worse all the time & I just don't seem to have the ability to catch myself or fall any graceful way. This fall I had last January was on a slope & it was just a really awkward fall on the ice & I twisted about everything. I'm with you, I can trip over a small stick or about anything. I've been having to use a cane since my knee has been hurt to give my leg more support & I really kind of feel a bit safer with it to give me a counterbalance. I am excited about the lambs, I can't wait to see them. I love baby animals of all kinds too, they're just too cute.

I'm sorry about your cat, it's just so hard to say goodbye even when you know it's for the best. She had a very long life & I know you gave her the best life she could have had.

sharol, my Dr. thinks & I do too that I probably tore my meniscus on my left knee as well when I fell & broke my right leg. I twisted both legs in the fall & everybody was focused on the right leg with the fracture. Nobody checked out the left leg that much other than my ankle because it was hurting. Then I twisted my left knee again two months ago & something in there popped & it has hurt every since & swelled. Whether I tore the meniscus twice or only once remains to be seen when they get into surgery. At any rate I need to get it fixed so I can get better & get back to taking care of my own birds & animals again. My DH is not happy about having to do chores for so long & honestly I would rather do them myself anyway so I can see how they're doing & do what needs to be done for them. He throws feed at them but doesn't do all of the things I normally do. I've still been going down there & checking on them as much as I can but after surgery I'm not going to be able to do that for awhile till I heal a bit. I have to traverse a fairly steep slope to get to my pens & I sure can't do that till my knee is healed a bit. It has been hard enough just trying to do it with my knee injured.

London and Willow decided that since it was a cool blustery day that it was a perfect day for an outing! They're both gone and don't come when DH went out and called and drove around looking for them. it's possible they're around and just sacked out but I'm about worried sick!! They did this the last rainy day we had as well. Willow will have to go back in with the goats for a couple weeks and maybe she'll learn to stay home. London didnt leave the place before and he still doesn't if she's not leading him off.
