Trish, that's the case, they add powder to the feed.

I think chickendanz is trying out the oil but putting it in water, since she so many birds. I try to individually dose mine when I see them look off. I have quite a few but nothing like danz' operation.

Oh and sorry CD that so many commit to buy and don't show up. I just hate that. Either that or they are totally retarded about birds when they get there! (Excuse me not being politically correct). I had a guy show up in a Prius and tried to stuff my turkeys in milk crates. I cried watching my sweet tom so bound up his wings and legs were in distorted positions. I was fuming. He had driven 3 hours to get to me house or I would have turned him away. He wanted some guineas and peacocks too but I said absolutely NOT!

The oregano floats on the surface like the VetRX does and they seem to be drinking it without a problem. I had some sneezing in a grow out pen and was using the oil in their water. It sure smells when I walk in that pen though. Actually it is kind of pleasant but strong. I do grow some oregano but don't have the mediteranian stuff they say is more potent. I could always throw some crumbled or ground leaves in the feed if that would help. Of course I don't know the source of sneezing either. This is a covered hoop coop with no access to wild birds flying over or anything. I have no idea what it is. It may be something that can't be helped with medication.
I may just spray some disinfectant out there on the ground in case it is something like mold spores or the like. It shouldn't be, but you never know. If this darned weather would just settle I could open things up a little more and let more fresh air in.
I have another pair of birds going this evening. I swear I had someone coming tomorrow but I can't find a message about it. I have a couple more coming this weekend. Also have some interested parties in a few other birds but I need time and room to sort and figure out what I have before I give them quotes. I really don't want to be out in the cold the rest of the week trying to count and move birds around.
People who haven't been here have trouble understanding. I have a pretty big brooder house with several chicks in several breeds. A couple bins here in the house with lots of different chicks. I have two large grow out pens with all kinds of birds. A trailer with pea chicks in it, and a rooster pen where the older cockerels have been moved for either back up roosters or ones to sell. Plus all my individual breeding pens. That's a lot of birds to keep separated from each other and impossible to count. I have a couple other pens where I have birds I am holding for a buyer, but can't put all of them in there or the roosters will fight. So it's like birds everywhere. Plus there is near to 30 breeding pens on top of all that and incubators to maintain.
I'm sure glad I have downsized. LOL

Yeah for sure!!! I am trying to keep my blinders on and stay uninformed so I don't buy something else. I am really really wanting to get some peacock pheasants though. I love them. I keep thinking of where I might house them. It would mean giving up another breed of chickens I guess. How will I ever stop my addiction???

LOL I suppose that would be good advice. If I don't think there is anything interesting out there I end up wanting to create it!!! It's so cold. That seems to work better than anything. Just keep me cold and I don't want more to care for. I figured out this morning I need to downsize at least 3 more colors. Darn it. I sure don't want to.

Me either. I was about to freeze out there earlier today. I don't think I can handle much more cold weather. I suppose I really need to stock every one up well today with feed and water so they can fill up to fight off the cold air coming in. I went and got a ton of feed this morning so hopefully I'll be good for a couple of weeks.
I sold the last of my extra roosters that aren't spoken for yesterday. I still need to count young birds and figure out what I have out there. I just don't want to do it in the cold. I also sold my chipmunks yesterday so now I can move that huge cage out of the house. It'll sure be nice to have space in the dining room again.
I have one customer coming in an hour or so and I think that is it for today. I have one coming tomorrow as well. I'm already tiring of people so I'm afraid it will be a long spring.
I guess I can deal with people if I make a little money though.

I have about finished one of the pens on the new brooder/coop.
There will be a 30 x 50 run on this side split into two 15 x 50.





The run I just compleated is 30 x 24 split into two 15 x 24 runs.





















The electricity is buried to the building but not run inside yet.
