Consolidated Kansas

Hi Grain Gypsy, I'm just up the road from you in Halstead.
Welcome to the group and BYC....

Its under your profile settings for forum post. (not sure of exact verbiage under settings but will look and pm you.)

Go to the upper right hand corner of the page and click on My Profile. Once you do so scroll all the way down to the bottom and you should see something that says Edit my signature. Or possibly since you don't have one yet it could say add my signature or something similar. Simply type in what you want to say.

Thanks for the help, guys! I've now got myself a signature. Anderson, I lived in Halstead for the summer of 1999 and worked with a team of fellow K-State students to do a comprehensive community service project there. Halstead is one of my favorite places in Kansas.

@Henagerie I think you're right, it just thew me that it looked so different than the rest from that group. I'm excited to see what it feathers out to look like. My oldest named it Fluffy :)

Fluffy is a good name for an Ameraucana. One of my favorite things about this breed is watching their plumage come in and their patterns and colors show up. Unlike RIRs or BOs you don't know quite what they will look like for months! I have six right now and they are so cute and colorful

I don't have much time to write so I'll just say welcome to the new folks & congrats on new chicks.

I have a batch of eggs in the hatcher that are due tomorrow. I sure wish it would warm up & stay that way because I have some bigger Buff Orp chicks that could go outside if it was warm enough. They're starting to get rowdy in the brooder & running over the smaller ones.

Well everyone have a good weekend & enjoy the weather, it's supposed to be nicer here anyway.

We got tons of rain during the night.....again. DH and I tried to move a pickup bed trailer yesterday and the truck got stuck. This is getting really old. It's so wet under neath that it takes nothing for a tire to just sink. I've already got huge ruts all over. I'm trying to get some emergency pens set up for ducks and goslings and this weather is just causing huge problems trying to get that done.
I got a new pump in the mail yesterday. My old one for the duck pond quit working. I was trying to pump it out to clean it and I just ran out of daylight. I am so far behind in all my projects. I am starting to hate spring. I need to get out earlier today and finish that. Nothing like starting off the day wet and muddy again.
I have another big hatch day tomorrow. I'm out of room. Sure as I quit hatching all of the sudden people will want chicks.

My guess is hen! :)

Danz too bad you couldn't send a wee bit more of that rain here. We finally got some last night, but every other time it's missed us.
I was out all day yesterday in the chill and damp, 61 and north windplanting some fruit trees we bought it at Orscheln's (2 of mine died over winter). :( before the rain came in but I must of been out too long because last night started coming down with a horrible sinus infection and feel awful.

On the bright side I got my first (except for the flukes in Feb) pea egg as well!

Happy hatching, everyone and welcome newbies!
