@HEChicken have you tried that goo stuff you put in tires to stop leaks? It's called Slime & you can get it at WalMart or probably hardware stores as well. We have so many hedge trees here that our lawnmower tires look like a sieve. We use that stuff in the tires & it really helps. Unless the hole is big & then you would have to plug it first. It sure has saved us numerous times. Of course there comes a point some time when you have to give up & get a new tire.

I haven't heard of that - I will look for it when I'm at Walmart this week - thanks! Yeah, its the hedge trees that are my nemesis as well. They drop branches with those long thorns so the tires don't stand a chance.

That green tire goo is some good stuff! It works really well! We had a tire on our mower that kept going flat, and the green goo saved us from having to buy a new tire. We had some pretty good sized holes in our wheelbarrow tire, and the green goo saved that tire as well despite a fairly decent sized hole. It's definitely worth a try!

I would love to be about 6 hours closer to Lizzy. We say that often. I'm afraid that I would want to babysit all the time instead of doing my chores. Her son is the cutest little boy and I am sure that Grace will be equally as adorable.
I had to get up early again today. The fencer should be here in about 45 minutes. We really made some progress yesterday. If DH will get up and get moving before noon and help out we should be in really good shape today. This is giving me a whole new meaning of what sore is. I swear though I've spent half my time with broken down equipment. Yesterday I almost completed clearing out the fence line when the chain fell off the chain saw. Of course I had no idea what on earth to do. So I sat down and took it apart and got it put back together. But I can't start it unless it's already been running and is warm. I tried and wrenched my wrist so I put that aside. I spent all day monkeying with my mower that wouldn't start. I charged the battery cause the switch wasn't making a sound. It is picky in that the brake has to be on for it to start and some part in there is weak so you have to try to reset the brake multiple times. I finally got the tools and adjusted the cable which I had been trying to get DH to do for some time. That made no difference. Since I'm not getting the sound of the switch I took the top off and checked wires and couldn't find any problems. We just replaced the ignition switch on this a year ago and I am starting to think it has quit again. I used it for 10 years without a problem but now it's toast again.
I used his mower which I hate. The seat was replaced so it is no longer adjustable and my legs aren't long enough to reach the clutch, which is too stiff for me anyway. There is no good back support so it hurts me to drive it. I hate shifting all those gears and I am too spoiled to my zero turn mower. I was trying to mow along the fence line so there wouldn't be grasses and stuff growing up in the fence.
So I guess today I'll get the rest of the fence line cleaned with the chain saw. I have a pile of metal siding I need to get moved elsewhere. We need to build a box for the charger so it can set out at the fence. Plus run an outlet out there from the building. That part could probably wait until later in the week because I can use an extension cord initially. I'm just not willing to depend on a solar charger because we have way too many dreary days here.
I thought my dogs were MIA yesterday and I kept expecting the phone to ring telling me they were someplace they weren't supposed to be. But about noon I found Precious in the brooder room in the building, Yeti was under the barn house in the duck pen in the shade and then Brittany came walking out from the South barn later in the afternoon. I guess they must have been hot and tired from a busy night. They always come for breakfast and never miss a beat showing up when someone comes, but they never came out. I was so relieved!!! It sure will be nice to have this fence in and know they are home without panicking on days like yesterday.

danz I'm so glad you're making progress on the new fence!

We got the last post in at my breeder coop yesterday & I got the gate on later. Now I have to work on getting the wire back on the top but am having some difficulty with doing what I had planned for support. It's always something.

Danz, that fence building sounds like a nightmare and the hot, muggy weather doesn't help anything.

I had a busy day yesterday as I decided it was time to sell my 4 youngest lambs and I also listed my goat buck for sale. Both sold more quickly than I anticipated and the buyers wanted to pick them up yesterday, at 4pm and 6pm respectively. Right after the 4pm people left, the skies opened up and it started raining. It was still thundering and lightning when the 6pm people showed and I stood out in the rain talking to the seller for awhile. Aside from the hot, muggy, stormy weather, the transactions went smoothly and I'm glad to have them gone. It will reduce the workload quite a bit - especially to have the goat buck gone. I'm hoping my does are already bred, in which case I don't have to get another buck until next year. It will make for a more pleasant winter to not have to deal with a buck so fingers crossed for me please!
