Consolidated Kansas

I wouldn't have thought the amoxicillin would work as well as it did. It has been so widely used that most bacteria is resistant to it. But I'm glad it did. Cats can be amazing creatures when it comes to healing. She by the way, matches that throw or blanket she is laying on perfectly. LOL
I didn’t notice her coloring before you said that but you are right, she does!

I’m going to watch her closely and if so see the skin getting red at all I’m going to switch antibiotics. She reacted positively to amoxicillin the first time I gave it to her about 2 weeks ago, but I obviously didn’t give it long enough.

Am so glad to hear that your pretty kitty is doing so well its so hard when our non speaking kids are hurt and we have to help them even though most the time they don't understand that we are helping them. Give her gentle hugs and lots of yummy wet kitty food from me.
She still wants to be around me so I think she has forgiven me. I will be giving her a hug for ya. She’s enjoying being in the house today. The high for the day is 25F!

Danz,
Met to ask if your going to be breeding your GP this Spring? Can't wait to get one of your pups though I think Heather will get one this year and I will get one in a coupe years or so when I moved out to the farm full time too.

She is in heat right now and I have her kenneled. She is too young to have pups. And very unhappy with me for penning her up. So is Yeti!!! He has a pile of straw by her pen so he can lay there and flirt with her.
Since I'm making her wait, you can pretty much count on pups being born in about 8 months or so.

Chicken Danz, you don’t by chance breed Drahthaar’s do you? The husband has been really wanting one for hunting but I would like to pay some debt off before investing in one of those.

No I only raise Great Pyrenees. They are bred to protect livestock and birds. I raise my pups with the birds from birth because it's hard to find bird safe LGDs.
It looks like today is D day for the cold front moving in. I'm going to go out and make sure all the animals have plenty of food and water before the super cold comes in. I think I'm going to try to insulate some water things a little more to see if it will help them stay thawed.
Yesterday I moved a bunch of birds to new pens and hope to finish that move today. I'm trying to reduce the number of heated water bowls out there.
I put a heavy layer of straw in the hen houses and more in the turkey houses and added more to a few other areas. I hope it helps hold in a little more warmth.
I ordered a different door for my dog door into the chicken building as well. My dogs use the door but not with the flaps down. They are a smoke color and they scare them. So I'm trying a clear one made for dog houses. It was the only one I could find that is large enough for my dog door. I'm afraid it will be next week before it gets here though with New Years day etc going on.

Yes I’m trying to figure out how best to keep the animals warm and with thawed water. There are poopsicles everywhere! I have a heated dog bowl I think I’m going to keep out there but it doesn’t really keep enough water for 8 ducks.

Her hair is growing back! The larger scab is still a little irritated so I’m still keeping a cream on it even though she hates it as well as the amoxicillin. She looks a little evil in one picture but that’s because I was scratching her and it’s her “oh that feels so good look”.
