Consolidated Kansas

@Dani4Hedgies , I hope you bring some extra money. I have lots of babies to move.;)

@CayugaJana, Isbars are kind of a new import. They lay green eggs and are really good layers. Not exactly beautiful but kind of cute. Here's a picture from Greenfire Farms which looks a lot like my breeders. These are the first ones I'm selling. Trish44 also raises them.

I really like the grey color. Are they mainly for eggs rather than meat birds?

My drake Skipper is really getting pretty. He’s even more colorful than the picture shows. He’s super laid back with the girls too which I appreciate. This spring should be interesting when they all start laying.

He is a nice looking boy. I need to sell or cull some of my extra boys out there and choose the best for breeding. I sold a duck that wasn't up to spec today and a couple young ducklings. I really wish they would have taken some more boys!!

That’s what I had to do Danz. Even though I only have a few. I had a male Swedish that I loved but he was a turd to Skipper. The Swedish spent his entire day shooing Skipper away from the girls and pecking him. He wouldn’t take time to eat or anything. The boys hated it but are getting used to what happens to farm animals.

I've butchered gobs of ducks but I have several in the freezer. I really dislike doing it so I put it off as much as I can. I love eating duck but my DH isn't fond of it.

The hubby likes to make nuggets with the meat and bread it and fry it. It’s pretty good that way. We have wild duck pretty often. We will see what this one tastes like. But I have a feeling the kiddos won’t eat it since he was more of a pet.

We are continuing to process the cow hide today. It sat in the tanning agent for 6 days. We still have lots to do on the skin side. It’s not very smooth yet. So we will see once it dries out what it looks and feels like. You can kind of see the brindle look to his hide. He was a pretty and fat boy.
