Okay- I have 3 4wk old FBCM roos to give away and a lovely Silver Pencilled EE roo of 12 weeks.

I also have a gorgeous Speckled Sussex roo of 6 mos that is up for grabs. Ringo's hand tame and love to sit in laps. I'm willing to bribe someone to take them...

I'll meet you up to an hour away from Lawrence. Any takers?

Oh, man. If only I had room, I'd love the Sussex roo. Gave mine to our cleaning lady (at work) to eat after he attacked me one too many times. I just have NO room right now, with turkeys in the brooder and 16 Ameraucana eggs due to hatch next week. Darn!

When we lived in San Diego I had a friend from this area and she said I needed to go to Lawrence, that I'd love it. I still haven't made it out yet which is pathetic since it's not that far.

I would love to get some chicks from you. What kind do you have? I'll definitely be in touch!

Don't worry- I'll have lots more to give away. I'm improving a couple of lines and will post here when I have culls. When you get more room, just holler at me!

OMG!!

How can you be right there and not have made it here??!!?

Holy cow, Girlie, you've got to make the short drive if you're from San Diego. You need a breath of fresh air. Lawrence can get on your nerves if you live here, but it's a great, laid back visit that has a touch of city to it in its diversity.

The downtown is several blocks of shops with wide sidewalks and lots to see and wander through, even when you're flat broke! Come and visit- we can have lunch! Indian? Thai? Sushi? Awesome Mexican? It's here!

Right now my up-for-grabs birds are: ~8 week old cream Brabanter roo, 2 ~4 week old French Black Copper Marans roos, a lovely 12 week old Silver-penciled Easter Egger roo, and a 6 month old Speckled Sussex roo. I will have Golden Lakenvelder chicks in a few days, and the parent flock are for sale if you want a ready made breeder flock. They are smaller birds, barely large fowl.

I have Cuckoo Marans; Easter Eggers; Gold-Laced Polish; Blue, Black, Splash, Buff and Lavender Orpingtons; Mille Fleur, Lavender and Mottled d'Uccles; Bantam Cochins (normal and frizzle), and I'm sure to be forgetting a bunch...not all are laying, but let me knowif something is interesting!

Do let me know if you want to lunch- I'm always up for chicken talk!

Where are you keeping all of these birds? I thought you lived in the city????

You must have a farm stashed away somewhere.

Yes- I have space on a farm South of town, while I hatch and raise them here covertly- I also keep a home flock for eating eggs, and so I usually have about 20 grown birds and 20-30 chicks to teenage birds in my yard. Technically, the rule is 20, but they're not living here...they're just visiting! They don't enforce the 4 dog limit when your dog has 6 puppies, right?
