Consolidated Kansas

Ah good. I forgot to ask his mom for their email address so I could send a link. Good luck at your upcoming fair. We'll try and swing by to check out all the birds.

Are the swap vendors usually club members or outside vendors?

Its open to the public. If it was confined to 4h members there would be like 5 people there lol. I don't know the kid with the white silkie personally but i can email our poultry leader and have her email it to his mom.

Wow, really. I thought you had a lot more in poultry than that. The poultry barn set up you guys have is the largest and nicest I've seen at a county level so far. Then again, we don't even have a poultry leader.

So what are the details for the swaps or is there any place that gets updated, craigslist posts, etc? We don't have anything at the moment, but I like to keep track of what's going on when and where.

Another Kansas here. We just got started with chickens and are having a lot of fun with them.

All you Wizard of Oz haters, I never liked it either. That and Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I thought they were both creepy and I'm sure some of those characters were not right in the head.

Are you talking about our outside barn with the cages or the air-conditioned one? The air-conditioned one was our all around 4-h building.

I'm sorry but i don't have any clue about how to get and updates or anything like that unless you get the cherokee county 4-h newsletter. but i can pm you when the next Columbus poultry swap is.

The swap is at the fairgrounds and it is the second Saturday of each month. I have seen it in the Big Nickel.

KansasKid- I'm talking about the outside barn with the cages. No need to PM. When you've got info on the next swap, just post it here. People can't come if they don't know about it.

Ha, thanks Jason. Is it year round minus July or only certain months? Currently only Yates Center is on my regular schedule of swaps when I can make it.

Realy its the biggest you've saw? Crawford county has a really big one that is twice the size of ours and if im not mistaken last year they had to use a second barn because of overflow. And also there is only like 5 kids that are true members to the club plus me and a few others but usually we never go to the fund raisers or anything like that. Only in the past couple of months have i started to get involved. But what i was getting at was that even know all of our poultry pins are usually full, the middle four cages of that barn are rabbit cages and the last section of tall cages on that north-east side were for the pigeons. So in reality there is only that north-west row and the very last two south-rows for poultry.
