Consolidated Kansas

Hey, what's a few contractions when you've got a swap meet to go to? LOL:D

A big congratulations on the new family addition. Life is wonderful.

I'm getting started raising ameraucanas. I will have black, lavender and silver. They will be coming from John Blehm. It is my intention to breed selectively, so if you are interested in any of those in the future, I might have some.

Okay, I will be in Wichita the evening of the 26th through at least the AM on the 28th. Naughty if you need shown how to process, let me know and I'll bring my tools. Anyone who needs chicks, all I've got right now are some Silkie, LF Brahma mixes, eh 4 wks maybe.

Ok a lil brain work here. I had this conversation with Mikeksfarmer couple days ago, but thought id bring it up here. The conversation was if I have a (Serama x Old english game banty) x (Serama) and I hatch their eggs at what point can you call their off spring Serama?

Now I am incubating two of their eggs just to see what they look like, because my lil Serama Roo is a stud and the hen is a gorgous lil girl so I cant wait to see their off spring.

Now I know I said I wasnt gonna have any more birds in my house, but I am making a speical occasion just for these two.

Where do you all get the best price on your Feed for your flock? I use layena right now and get it from Orschelns. I have been thinking about going to the Ottawa COOP. Do any of you have a better place to get feed and what do you use? Do you use your COOP is it worth trying?

If your in the Bonner Springs area my place Kaw Valley feed sells for less. LOL not a walmart but sells for a couple of dollars less than any price I have had quoted so far.
They also have a hatchery guy come up from MO with birds produced by Amish and Menenites. Not exactly sure how it works but he has several dozen people in the community who raize specific types and he hatches and sells. He is somewhat of a good ol boy. At first I thought he was from IDEAL but he is on his own. I can post dates of his being here in the future. My Welsumers are sweet ;really dark eggs.

By the way very late congrats to the new parents. ! The very best of wishes to Emma and her family for the new year and many to come!
