Consolidated Kansas

The cost of him driveing to my house and I drive to Muddy Creek Game farm is and would be much cheaper then the shipping cost of the netting. The shipping cost of the netting is what kills your bank account. These people have told me all they want out of the netting is 20% less then what it cost them, and there was no set amount we had to take.

I am not mistaken Michael plans on other birds not just meat birds at least thats what I got out of my phone call with 1idwillie.

...that sounds like a lot of netting!! I could use a couple of sections if there's THAT much!!!

Can you find out the dimensions available? And is it in good condition? It's designed to withstand a few years, but it breaks down over time, so I don't want to invest 80% in anything that's been aged by the UV rays for more than a year.

I need my pieces no smaller than 50' x 25' and would like them bigger, if possible. I was just going to go to ebay, as usual...

Do you know the hole size? Or the weight of the netting? Hmmmm...

Oh, I plan to utilize as much of the salvaged material as possible. Much of the lumber is still usable. The tin will be salvaged for siding. The old blocks that are falling apart will be "mostly" used as gravel for the driveway into the shop/machine shed. They crush fairly easily.

Last year when we had the windstorm I built the chicken tractor where the golden laks are presently. I made it from all salvaged material. I did have to use a couple new 2 x 4s. The top of the run for the tractor is made from the tarp off the trampoline that was destroyed in the storm. It was kind of a "design as you go" project based on the materials at hand. I'm rather proud of it, but I do need to paint the door and add some kind of a handle in front to drag it around. I'm thinking I will find a handle like what is found on the front of a child's wagon that will fold up against the front of the tractor and not stick out. Right now I'm just using an old hay hook to hook on to the bottom and drag it.

With this storm they are predicting for tomorrow I plan to drag the whole thing into the barn until the weather clears up. They would probably be okay out there in it, but I'm just not sure it is blizzard proof.

That is exactly what I did. I got my netting a number of years ago when a game bird farm was sold due to the owners death, and the new owners did not want it. I got more netting than I could shake a stick at for next to nothing. I'm glad I did, because I used it when I lived down by Solomon, and now I will be using it on my new runs when my barn rebuilding project is done.

Found an Opossum in the coop this morning. He didnt do any damage to any thing. Not a feather looked out of place. The poor thing was just trying to get some sleep in a nest box. I releived him of his life. I am sure the Turkey Vultures will find him scrumptous. Figure he got in there before I closed them in at night. He didnt even eat one cuccumber!

Renee,
The netting is I think two years old, and it is the extra heavy duty double knitted or knoted cant remember. Hole size is 1 1/2 " If my memory serves me right the pens are 150ft x 50ft, and there are four pens. The owner operater is supossed to call me after tax time with a price.
