So the weather is gonna be great this weekend, who's got big plans? Personally I'm not going to do much but I hope to have a few chicks hatch tomorrow. I looked these eggs over a couple days ago and outta 16 only 7 look like they have a chance. That's how shipped eggs go sometimes I suppose.

I think I will start some seeds. Do some garden type stuff, and spend all day soaking up sunshine!

After loosing my little lavender ameraucana chick, all the others seem to be doing well. A couple of the wheatens had the beginnings of pasty butts, but that seems to be clearing up already after just a little "attention."

I got the rest of the lumber knocked apart, nails and screws removed and stacked what was useable. Time to clean up the old block walls, but that may have to wait a while as my work schedule will interfere with my barn building plans for a while.

It sure looks different out there with the old barn gone.

Anybody know of a good source for some good used metal barn siding? I'll need about 48 8-foot pieces. I've already got the material for the roof, except for the skylight panels I want to put in.

We're getting ready to plant corn and working on fixing fence in the pasture. Hopefully somewhere in there I'll get a chance to till my garden before it rains again.

For my garden? We have this little mini disk that fits behind our smallest tractor that will fit in my garden space, but so far he hasn't gotten it hooked up for me so I'll probably just use my little tiller......a pain in the butt.

Tonya, I hope the eggs hold together even with blown airsacs- I have had them work anyway...I'm really sorry the got it so bad! I've had much worse luck with eggs going short distances than with long-distance shipments. It only takes about 18 hours for customers in Alaska to get their eggs and I've had 100% hatches up there...and then there's the Missouri folks who get theirs in 3 days, totally rattled...stinks.

Susie, do you mind if I direct all the folks asking me for Lakenvelder eggs to you? I'm getting inquiries and don't want to send folks to you if you aren't wanting to do sales.

Everyone else- keep me up to date on whether anyone wants to be added to the feed order- this Monday I'll be going in to get it made up. I'll add your poundage and you can get it when it's handy for you- you folks out west still wanting any? I'm only going to make up a couple hundred extra pounds, so let me know.
