Ok, not a grandma car in that if you put your foot in it, it GOES!! And it gets fabulous mileage for the amount of pickup it has...but it's a 2-door, which stinks- the doors are a city block long, so you can't open your door if someone parks right on you, and the turning radius just SUCKS. I'm used to driving BIG honking tall things or little tiny imports...I don't like the granny tank feel. I like that I could fit several grown men in my trunk...so it serves as a farm truck much of the time. I can get a pile of 10' 2" x 4" boards in it through the trunk, through the back seat flipped down diagonal, if I lay down the passenger seat. I can put a roll of 60" 100ft fencing in the passenger seat, too...so it works.

It's rather luxurious with all the auto everything and drives like a cloud...but I'm an active participant when driving and it feels a bit too soft for me.

...and now the wiring harness for the ABS system is acting up. I need to replace a bit of it to get the ABS and traction working again. Common problem, dangit.

That is right at the wheels I had to do it to our Monte also! Easy fix. its a plug and play kinda thing.

Yeah- I'm just not wanting to go after it...too much other crud to do. I think I'll go to O'Reilly and have them do the sensor check so I know which wheel is the culprit.

EVERYONE::

I'm going to go make feed today.

2 options:

Sprouting grains- you toss them in a sheet pan or old lasagne dish and fill with water, 4 days later you have sprouted grains your birds will freak over, very nutritious. I'm guessing $13 for a 50# bag, but don't know for certain. Should last a long time.

Feed: Tweaked the recipe a tad and I'll be cracking the peas and corn just very coarsely. I'll also be upping the milo and some of the smaller grains. Should remain somewhere in the $23-25 range. I ended up selling all of my reserves to folks who didn't get in on the first order, so I'm out now

Anyway, it's been great and the birds are happy, so I'm happy.

If you want any, I'm leaving in an hour. I'll be available by phone if you want to have me make some for you. Seven Eight Five- 766-9913

I'll be there until probably 1 or so.

Yes! What breed?

I have seen numerous tornados over the years. My husband has been through 2. I've had several within a few miles, and TWO that went right over me that were not touching the ground. The noise is incredible and unforgetable.

I believe it is hard for people to see them when they live in or around cities. Too many obstructions. I've lived out in the country where you could see for miles.... miles and miles of wheatfields.

I will never forget the time when I was a teenager (many years ago!) I was on my dad's custom harvest crew in Oklahoma. It was dark, and storms were all around us. In the lightening you could see tornados on THREE sides of us. I have no idea how far away they were because you could see for miles. We were sitting there waiting for my sister to get back from the elevator with the wheat truck before we all high-tailed it out of there.

We could see her coming down the road for several miles too. That old truck was ROARING down the road and man it could MOVE, lights flashing and when she got closer we could see her arms waving out the window. Guess she could see those tornados, too.

We all piled in the trucks and headed out of there.

In a tornado, I head for the basement. Where do you go in an earthquake? I believe I'll stay in Kansas.

I have been inside WolfCreek several times. We are in no real danger with that plant. The question Japan brings to the surface is what protection does back up cooling have? Should say a 747 crash into the containment building; its designed to with stand that. But power goes out, and do the cooling generators get damaged in the crash. Then Hydrogen explosion and my farm looses value as no one will eat my food or live here. I am North. Nuclear power is mostly safe. We have some problems with waste storage, and government lowest budget contracts but in the end we will find our selves using nuclear power. My guess is that our grandchildren will see Japan as just one of many. We live in the golden age. Its sad to know as a specie; greed and politics will shorten and reduce the quality of life in the future.

My son is a senior at KSU. Nuclear engineering. He is extremely gifted. (Okay, yeah, I'm a proud mom.) Anyway, he went into college with the idea he was going to solve the worlds energy problems. I think he realizes the problems are more political than physical.

He's getting his engineering degree, but has decided to use his nuclear/radiation knowlege in a different field. He has decided to be a radiation oncologist and will finish up his pre-med next year.

I admittedly do not know much about it. He runs the experimental nuclear reactor at KSU. It's his opinion that nuclear reactors are much safer than most people tend to think.

Unfortunately, no. It is a picture of the kind of horse I want if I am ever able to get one. It is a Belgian Draft Horse, they are quite large and muscled (I like my men that way, too.

I do love horses and wish I could own one.

Wolf creek is actually built to withstand quakes to a point - also to withstand tornado - it was built to withstand a lot of poop!

Under a strong table or a door frame, if your out side just stay in the open away from buildings and rock walls. you just need to watch for stuff falling.

I am sorry dont own a digital camera. I was going to try and bribe Ozawki Bantams yesterday with frozen phesants and eggs to take a pic since you gave me picks of the eggs. I would have postable pics of eggs and birds. I have a neighbor lined up to take pics for craigs list. Hope to have them soon. Best offer here is I am working on it. Need some help reducing what you sent as they take hours to down load. But we will be there soon.
