Runners are far more upright, but it may not be as obvious in hatchery ducklings. I would definitely keep drakes down to a minimum, but I think it's important to have one. Ducks all get along fine, regardless of breed. I've heard mixed opinions on ducklings being okay with medicated starter, but I think an all-purpose like Manna Pro Trip-L-Duty or Flock Raiser is fine, as they're designed for multi-fowl flocks.

I'm not sure about breed ID-ing via staff- I'd be very leery...there are pics of ducklings on some threads about ducklings at TSC and O's last month- you might just take a pic and then we can ID them.

Did you sex them from the dark eye line and the triangle on the head?? Last year I saw a version of the sexer in use and ended up with more roos than hens. My friend Patty said they tasted great!

Just in to sit in front of the fan this morning; burned the last garden weeds and some flower weeds. Been using rabbit (coco puffs) to prepare the namater holes. The last tub is reserved for the cuccumbers. (no deer allowed!) Eating asparagus daily now; Oh I so love spring. I made home made pasta last night and dressed it with chicken peppers onions squash and fresh asparagus it was so awesome! Not that I would brag! My fresh dill is up! yea! If you havent roasted a chicken with fresh dill, well you should!!!
Ok I am rambling and I am cool enough for another round in the garden!!!

These temps are going to be all over the place for the next few days, Im just worried about the giant hail they are calling for and the lightening-everything is coming up so nice and I dont want it beat down. Plus I work outside Lawn and Garden at Lowes and we are in a wide open area with a golf coarse to the North and the college campus to the west so we are sitting ducks for a lightening strike, I love working outside but not in a storm!

This
is the link for the K & L Exotic Animal and Bird Auction in Yates Center, Kansas

The sale is April 30th and May 1st

or go to www.kramerlivestockfarm.com

Usually a large auction with anywhere from 350 to 700 lots of poultry and rabbits. This sale will be smaller due to the time of the year, but still expect to get around 400+ lots of birds. Plus all the sheep and goats, mini and exotic cattle, camels, zebras, llamas and alpacas, mini horses and donkeys, and much more.
