Carol, I'm not a duck person, but I know there can be difficulty with their legs from niacin deficiency and protein percentages- I also know RevolutionMama has her food and water set far apart and gives them lots of room when they're growing to encourage muscle development.
Perhaps do a search for similar problems within the ducks section? I'm sure someone there will know immediately!
I didn't mean to use any concrete at all. Just mortar to hold the rocks together with the wire in between. I was talking if you want to build the bottom up then you could use fill dirt.

Our Ducks did the same thing. I now give them the Niacin they need in their water. I got some from Wal-mart that I would take from time to time and I just break the pill open and poor it into the water once every other day. Niacin is a B vitamin and you cant get to much just use what you can and pee of the rest. I think I have the 100ml so I just use one pill in 3gal water. It took just a day or 2 and they were back on their feet again.
Hey all. I could use some help here also. I started using my big hatcher yesterday. There just wasn't enough room anymore in the small one I've been using. My problem is I can't get the humidity up high enough. I am using an auto water thing with two humidity pads. That wasn't catching it, I added a cake pan and two more humidity pans to the bottom of the hatcher and I'm still only up to 61%. The bottom pan bothers me anyway, in case a chick would get off the hatching tray and fall in it. I'm all for suggestions. I shut some vents on the back but don't want to shut any more because then there wouldn't be the necessary air. I'll try about anything as long as it is safe for the birds.
I'd like to get at least 70% for the game birds.
