Consolidated Kansas

No, that is a long ways from me. Drat! Wish I were closer. I could really use something like that. I get more sales from word of mouth than anything. But it is getting close to fall so I need to move some birds soon or build several more pens.

Oh!! Yoder is not far from me, though!!! What do they sell out there?! How exciting! Have you ever seen really nice WCB Polish? (standard size) I know I already ordered them... What about turkeys? I'd love to get a Royal Palm tom for my Jenny. hehe!! Of course... she could still turn into a "he" I suppose....

BTW- I'm like 100% certain this tadpole is dead.. and was dead when he arrived. While I took my oldest to piano lessons tonight, came back and somehow his body has flipped over and he's floating. Icky.

Danz- I agree, if these next tadpoles don't work out, I'm just going to go buy him some instead and forget about killing them in transit. Obviously tadpoles and mail don't go together. Sigh.

Did everyone else experience the awesome weather today? It was overcast/cloudy and sprinkled off and on. Not any real rain, but it did mist and sprinkle most of the day. I even managed to mow in it. I got pretty wet, but I love how cool it was! No work on the coop, though. Didn't feel like sparking any of the equipment.

I am not Katy, but I have been several times. I have seen turkeys, goats, pheasants, quail, llamas, pigs, peas, ducks, geese (even sebs,) rabbits, st bernard pups, ponies, guinea pigs, calves, guineas, pigeons, puppies, kittens, a lemur once (someones pet,) eggs, feeders, waterers, cages, coops, and of course lots of chickens.

It changes with each auction and season. We have seen some really nice birds (some bantam cochins, RIR, and some bantam wyandottes) over the years. And lots of mixed birds, some in great shape some in bad shape.

OMGosh!!! That sounds like an amazing event with a ton of diff animals! I think I will have to get out to one of those!! That sounds like a lot of fun! And Yoder! While I'm there, get some of their great home style cooking and breads!

I'm jealous. The closest thing to that near me is in Yates Center and it is only two times a year. They charge rediculous fees and all small animals like chickens are just sold, not auctioned. They auction the livestock. They charge $2.50 for each cage plus 15% of the sale price. And you have to sell the cage with the animal. If you only have one or two birds in there it gets really expensive. Plus it is $8 to get in.

So what time of day does this thing in Yoder begin? What are their fees and rules? I couldn't make it this month because I will be in the hospital for a minor surgery Friday, but I might go next month. I am sure I will have plenty. I still have eggs hatching.

Yes, what time? And what are the fees? Does it cost to get in? Is it pretty easy to find in Yoder? Like right off the highway near the restaurant or something?? I better not go this time- I might be temped to buy something! But next month I think I'll go - my coop should be done and I can be more prepared in case I get anything.

Is everything auctioned off, or are there sellers there too that you can buy straight from?
