HYSTERICAL!!!! That had me laughing-- now they're on the power line!!? Oh, that totally figures, doesn't it!?

YAY!! Purging!! Oh, I love purging and it feels sooooo good to have empty space!

It is a constant battle though. As soon as I clear out space, it's dumped on again by the family. Well.. and I have to admit, I do it too. I'm about ready to go through kids clothes and get rid of small summer stuff and take it to Goodwill.

Danz, the pond sounds like it is going to be pretty cool! I hope the ducks stayed off of it long enough for it to set? The filter project is really intriguing, too! I hope you'll post a picture when you get it done. Good luck with keeping all the water loving birds out of it while you work...

So we got a lot more done on the coop tonight!! Okay... actually, DH did. I just held pieces in place while he used the pneumatic nailer to put up the rest of the facia board-- the trim stuff around the roof. I don't know if it has a diff name or not. But it's not under the eaves- it's the board that covers up the ends of the trusses. We're going to roof it this weekend. Well, that is the plan, I hope we can stick to it. I got a nice big plastic bin for the chicks. I know they'll grow out of it soon, but it will keep them warm for the first two or three weeks before they really start to fly out of it. I picked up the pine shavings, and I think I'm ready. My mom did finally tell me about the vet stuff she did with Seymore over the summer (when we were at the lake in MN) when she took Seymore to the vet. They ran labs on her poop and her blood! and it turned up clean for cocci and whatever else they were looking for. So I feel pretty comfortable it was heat stroke and not disease, and that she won't pass anything on to the chicks when they are big enough to be put together.

Well, the kids are in bed, and I have just finished putting clean linens on our bed tonight, so I'm ready to sleep. I love the first night in crisp clean sheets. Unfortunately, it wasn't really due until this weekend. But my youngest had a nightmare last night and crawled into our bed. I woke up to a wet spot under her!! She peed in our bed and I was just too tired (3am in the morning), so I just threw towels on it. I quickly changed her and put her back in HER bed. We just bought that mattress-- but I was thinking ahead, and I had bought one of those nice waterproof covers that goes over the matteress.

So everything is fine, but it all did have to be washed. Hhmm.... okay? Anyone? Tell me how much you MISS being peed on in the middle of the night in your own bed by a sleeping preschooler! BwAhaHahaha!

Had to laugh at that one. I couldn't count all the wet spots I've had in my beds. No Loralee I don't miss that at all. Love the kids but don't love what comes out of them.
I just went out to check the pond. The ducks have water splashed every where. BUT I think they did it this morning cause the concrete seems to be firm. Praise the Lord!
I have a busy day ahead again. Have to go get feed and then have to go to physical therapy again. I really wish I could just stay home and work on my projects. My back really hurts today after that pond work. I hate being old!

ACK!! Seymore just ate a huge rhinestone that had fallen on the ground off my jeans! It happened so fast! Will she be okay? Will the rhinestone 'come out'? It was the size of a dime!! Does it come out or is it stuck in there?!?!

Good morning, I'm just here to vent a bit.

As of right now we’re still on the fence if we have the house or not and we are to close on Monday. Got a letter telling me that my Ex has filed for bankruptcy, also know that she never bought me off the car she drives so that means that I get stuck with that extra bill I didn’t want and not only that she wrecked the car and it can’t run at this time. It’s months end here at work and were 25 million short of making the month so were going to try and shove it all in the last week. (25 mill is about what we would do in 4 weeks) So the poor kids that work the lines are putting in 12+ hour days for the past 2 weeks no weekends.

We still hope to hear from underwriting today about our loan for the new farm and my GF is being optimistic and I’m not sure what is going on so I’m kind of the party pooper. I really hope this all get done in the end She has worked very hard to have the house to call her own and I want still to do whatever it will take.

Oh wow, I sure hope it works out for you! Is it JUST the car your ex defaulted on? I hope you were not signed onto anything else of hers. WOW that could be a mess. I hope you are getting some amazing OT pay for all of your extra work! Sounds like you are going to be buried in your job for a while. It's hard to stay optimistic with all of that going on, but do try to keep your humor and roll with the punches. There's always more than one way to get something done. I will be thinking of you and I sure hope you get your house!

Seymore should be fine as long as it didn't have sharp edges that would cut him/her. I'm guessing this was plastic so he should just poop it out. Kind of watch in the next day or two for some shiny object glowing in the piles! I had a bullet casing that the chickens kept eating and I found it in poop at least 4 times before I put it in the metal bin. Those birds love the shiny.
I am so sorry CK for all you are going through. Home ownership and divorce are a mess. My ex had filed bankruptsy and 3 years later I not only got taken to bankruptsy court but I had the IRS after me for his unpaid taxes. I had no money to hire an attorney so I did some research and represented myself. The judge found me not responsible and the attorney was ordered to pay me $250 for my time. (I never got a dime from him!) I proved to the IRS I had nothing to do with him and showed them I had gotten refunds the previous 2 years. But talk about stress. He was in hiding so they all came after me since I was the last link to him.
When I bought this place I was supposed to close in a week and they had an offer on the whole farm. They had my escrow, I had secured the loan, and the realtor called me and told me I wasn't getting the place. As it was it all worked out but I was super upset. The guy ended up buying the balance of the farm but somehow I got screwed out of about 10 acres in the process for no reduction in price. It was because the survey guy was too lazy to remeasure anything and went by the county markers. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. My sister was going to hire the same realtor to sell her house and I talked her out of it, thank goodness. Believe me though, it all works out in the end.

Yikes Danz about the house buying issues!! I hope I never have to move! My DH and I love our home and we don't plan on ever moving if we don't have to. We were s lucky to have an amazingly nice and honest builder and a great realtor that worked her butt off for us. I referred to her as an attack dog- she was serious about getting the best for us. She spent 2 years house hunting for us before we gave up and bought the land and built this house. We went to the Parade of Homes to pick out our builder and then spent about 6 months checking out various homes and talking to the builders to make our final decision. There were a lot to choose from, but these guys never seemed to cut corners in their build, so we went with them. I did walk thrus with them every couple of weeks into the build so they could show us where they were at- nothing was hidden or kept from us. Even when we did unexpected drive-bys, they were always so nice and ready to show us their work. They have built hundreds and hundreds of homes. We've heard so many bad experiences with builders, I always recommend ours to anyone on the hunt.

Well, I hope this rhinestone comes right on through and I can get it picked up before she eats it again. Sounds like a crazy cycle! A bullet casing- that's funny!!! I wouldn't think that would even pass!!

So here is some quick shots I took from my phone. Behind the House and barns is 8.3 acres, a lot smaller than the 30 I’m on today. The land and buildings are much more useful at the new house so it’s a good trade. The house is only 2br 1 bath and 940sf on the other hand the Outbuildings are 30X60 and are on slab floors and heat in them. I really feel it’s going to be hard to find this deal for less than 100K again so I want it to work out! The price of the house is really nothing compared to the new friends we have made with the sellers. We really hope that they can teach us a few things about the country life the GF and I long for.
