Looking great! Aren't we lucky to have decent weather this time of year? Looks like tomorrow may be the end for at least a little while. I'm ignoring the house and doing everything I can outside while I can.

Danz, Yep- me too! Going to do as much work as I can tomorrow! Yikes, I hope it won't be our last nice day. We haven't even gotten close to working with wire yet- not looking forward to that. Very cool about the excavator! I bet that was fun working on your ponds. Our neighbor (who owns a plumbing co) is going to bring his trencher over next week and dig our line to the house. We should have electric soon, which will be nice.

Ivy- oooh, can't wait to see those pictures!! That is so fun that you took them, that is awesome!

Trish- LOL! I think after I build this, I will never do another one again!

I'm just too darned slow!

Danz- I totally envy the excavation work today! What fun! And I missed the post about the chick- what fun to have a Silkie baby. i haven't hatched any of my own in a loooooooong time. I'm looking forward to them.

Ivy- Sounds like you have all sorts of stuff going on- I'm glad I'm nowhere near shows like that, or I'd be in trouble for a number of reasons...and my disposable show cover budget would be huge.

Mike, I'm glad your move is nearly done. It's something I swore I was never doing again after the last one- promised myself I'd be leaving here in a box. "If I need changes, I'll have to build them"

...but I'm in the middle of town, so I think I may have been quite hasty.

Hawkeye, that coop is really fabulous for a first coop. I can't say I've ever paid that kind of attention to detail, and my Sanford & Son coops aren't anything like that!

Blue splash.... Think its a roo.
They are all going to the swap saturday. I wont be there Duck and I are going duck hunting. But if I cant get them sold they will become dog treats.

Who's taking them, Darin? I was thinking of going up. I don't really have anything to sell myself that is worth paying the the $5 entry fee. Depending on what you want for him I might buy him and donate him to Hawkeye later on. I have some excess roos but they are good quality and I can sell them in Gardner next spring for a lot more. I have about 30 guineas as well but I think for what I'd get this time of year I can feed them all winter. That is, if they don't drive me insane in the meantime.
Renee, I think I may have a second silkie chick in the hatcher. I haven't counted toes yet.
I'm thinking I have some black cochin, black silkie mixed chicks. I think those maybe quite interesting. The cochins are LF and of course the silkies are small. I might have invented a couple of major fluff balls. I don't mind if they're mixed for my egg layers. My favorite bird is a cross and she is beautiful. We are working steadily on getting the trailer moved so I can separate all my breeds. Then it will be pretty much all purebred chicks from then on. Of course that is still a ways off so heaven knows what will happen.
I need to get out and get busy. I sure dread working against the wind today though.

holy moly that wind is insane! I'm planning on getting my windows in today and work on the main door. But this will be fun. I ran again to Lowes. Geez. I keep thinking of more stuff I forgot! I never bought hinges for the windows, so I had to go get those.

Danz, good luck working in this wind! I guess we'll both be out there battling it. Sigh. But I need to get as much done today as I can. My Dh is coming home here in a bit and he is going to help me get it all put in. Our goal is to get babies put in this weekend. But you know me and my "goals". For example, yesterday it took me 2 hours to put the stinkin' locks on the nest doors! I kept doing them wrong and had to redo them. So frustrating.

BTW- blue splash roo with your blacks would go blue, splash and black!

Sure glad I don't have to move all my birds. That would take a semi.
I just figured out my day got a lot busier. I thought I had about 150 pounds of feed left and I only had about a bucket full. Didn't even have enough to feed everyone much.
So now I have to load up the stuff and go to the co-op to get more feed this afternoon. It is going to be fun shoveling a ton of feed in this wind. My daughter called while I was moving chicks and plans to call back. That will blow some time. I'm thinking I may not have time to get the netting up today. If the wind would stop blowing it would sure be easier.

ByNature- cute! Those bunnies are adorable! Looks like everyone is happy. I can "hear" you're right near the airport.

Danz, just got back in- I've been putting the OSB board up on the inside of the coop around the nest box and window. Cut out a hole for one of the electrical outlets. Fun stuff. That wind has wiped me out. Going to rest a bit before I head back out again. Good luck with getting grain and netting up today. Not enough hours in this day.

Just got out of the shower so I can go get covered in grain dust.
The wind is wiping me out. I have the netting laid on the pen but I'm far from getting it straight or stretched out. It really is a two person job. Got the call from my daughter while I was wrestling it and ran out of time. I have about 35 minutes before I have to leave for the feed but I'm not sure I want to get out in the wind again while time goes by.
I just looked at the forecast. I'm not ready for the weather to switch. I do know it is making my arthritis go crazy today.
