Hush you.

Wouldn't want the sky to get any ideas. I loved snow when I was a kid. Now I only like snow when my whole family can stay home and watch it.

Danz, hope you had fun at your event this morning! Sorry about not being able to sleep in. It was too cold to do anything outside today-- I tried! I frozen my fingers off! But tomorrow and Friday should be nice! We're going to be back in the 60's down here. I think I can get the chickens in the coop THIS weekend!!! I already put the vinyl floor in and now I just need to make the roosts and finish the trim stuff on the inside. So I'm crossing my fingers!

It didn't snow here, but we did have some sprinkles for just a little while. I picked up one of my birds at the airport this afternoon. They weren't going to call me! They were just going to keep him over night and let my PO get him in the morning. Poor thing. He ate and drank like crazy and then after a little while, he tried crowing. Sort of a strangled sound. I don't think he has the hang of it yet. When I got him at the airport, I took him out of his box in the car and put him on my lap. I pet him and he snuggled up to me on the drive home. About half way, he sort of started coming around and wanted to look out the window and look around, but was very content to just lay in my lap. He clucked at me the whole ride home and even groomed himself. I'm relieved he seems to have made it okay. Whew.

I took both kids to the Dr this morning. My middle child has croup and my youngest has a sinus infection. They were both coughing and not feeling well. But only one round of antibiotics this morning and they are back to bouncing off the walls. Sigh. I was sort of hoping for a nice quiet day of the kids wanting to lay around and be lazy.

JustinWrites- my mom is an RN and she used to do State travel for them doing nursing home checks. After a year she was very tired of the traveling and quit. But since your DW is a nurse, she can pretty much work anywhere she wants! Nurses are always in need and have a high turn over. Texas is milder in temperature during the winter, but they are soooo hot and humid in the summer.

Maybe Florida?? My parents used to live there and they LOVED it. They lived in Jacksonville-- close enough to the coast without the high cost of living ON the coast.

My daughter is an RN. She has never had a problem finding good paying employment. I should have been smart enough to do something like that when I was young. She also lives where she wants to live, in the mountains outside of Denver.
I hated snow for years but since my retirement I've actually gotten to finally sit and look out the window and enjoy it. Living in the country has it's downfalls though. We live in a lower area and it takes so little for the north/south and the east /west roads to drift shut. The worst time was Christmas 2 years ago. It snowed a bunch and we were snow bound on Christmas day. We couldn't get out and no one could get in. Beautiful dreamy type Christmas day but no one to celebrate with. Just not having to drive in it is a blessing. Of course now I have to wade out in 2-3 foot drifts to feed the birds in the winter but with enough layers it isn't so awful.
I'm just never ready for cold weather. I HATE cold weather. I like it about 75 to 85 degrees.

Well if we all could just look out the window at it & say how pretty it is that would be OK, but we have to get out in the darned cold & take care of our birds & other animals, that's what's miserable. Also, we live in the Flint Hills & our house is built into the hill, so our driveway it uphill at both ends. It's a disaster when it snows & gets slick. The only thing that gets us out of here in the snow & ice is our old bomb of a 4 wheel drive truck. When hubby goes to work I'm stuck in here with no way out. Now do you see why I hate it? Also, I'm afraid to walk up the driveway when it's slick for fear of falling. I've done that way too many times & I don't bounce so well any more.

The boys and I were talking about naming him Zorro. But now that we've met him, I think he deserves a name like Peanut or Buttercup.

He seems a bit droopy-- his tail is hanging low, so I'm hoping he will be okay from his trip.

Aww, Hawkeye, he's so cute! I agree he should have a cute name too. I'll bet he's tired, I would give him some of the vitamins in water that you said you have to perk him up. It's stressful for them to travel.
