Hawkeye, I am guessing it is stress. Give him some yogurt, some crumbled boiled egg, and add pedialite to his water if you have some. He probably just needs a boost to get back to normal. I actually do the same thing when I travel!
Ivy, we have that problem every winter. The north/south road is the worst. You just have a path made by the snow plow (when he gets there)and then 8-9 foot drifts on each side. I always think if I hit one of those snow drifts they won't ever find my car cause it is so much higher than the car. Even DH's really big 10 cylinder 4-wheel drive truck got stuck last winter because the path was slick and he slid into one of the drifts. We had to drive the tractor almost a mile to get him pulled out. No cab! Burr! The road that goes east and west fills with snow on the other side of the creek so we are stuck between the two. I think it was 5 days before we could get out that one Christmas. The north wind whips around the house and the snow piles on the south side of the house. Then I can't get out of my back door. I have had to go out the front and shovel snow off the back stoop and make a path many times before I could get out to feed the birds.
Speaking of birds I failed to unhook and blow out my hoses yesterday. It was one of those days when my pain level was a 10. I didn't want to do anything. So this morning my miles of water hose are all frozen and the birds are all thirsty. I ran out quickly and poured water in the dog bowl. I guess I'm going to have to put the heated dishes and the stock tank heaters out soon.
Wouldn't it be awesome to have underground water lines and electricity to everything for weather like this.
Maybe when I win a few million
some how I will get that done!
