OMGosh!! You're a Leo, too!??!! HA!! Well, see, that explains our winter depression. Blah. I hate winter, I hate short dark days and I hate the cold. See??! I am just darned gloomy. This is me in the winter:

(cloudy days) I'm a yo-yo. Sigh.

Maybe it is the link between how a nice home grown egg yolk is bright and yellow and looks like the sun?
Or maybe it is that we Leos just love being outside and the chickens provide such great entertainment.
Or maybe it is our mothering instinct and baby chicks just bring out the Ahhhhhh in us.

Maybe all of the above? I LOVE being outside and I've always had a thing for birds.

I used to have parakeets, and they are just not as loving as chickens. Plus, there is something awesome about having these guys clucking and scratching around. I feel joy every time I hear my cockerel crowing! LOL! I'm actually loving having my little Polish in the house.

In other news... I'm hunting on CraigsList for ANOTHER wire dog crate. Sigh. Going to get miss Cocoa (her new name) out of her box and into something where she can see us. Plus eventually when she's feeling better, she'll probably feel like flying out of this box! I've found a couple of deals, and one person wrote me back and said they still have the kennel. But there is another one that is cheaper-- and I'd much rather get that one instead. But if I don't hear back-- then i hate to miss out on the one where they wrote me back, because they are still cheaper than everyone else. People want such outrageous prices for these things! I kind of wish they would have posted their numbers so I could have called them a couple hours ago and see if it is available, it would make things go faster. When I list on CL, I always give a number so I'm not chasing emails all day.

It's easy to talk to whoever calls first and be done with it.

A wire dog crate that can be inside. It's the kind that has the black plastic pan that slides out from the bottom. That way I can change the newspaper and chips easily. Also, the cage cups I buy at Atwoods will fit in on the wires of the kennel-- so they don't step in the food. Like she is doing right now.

I wish I had known you were looking for one, there have been quite a few on our Cowley Buy, Sell, Trade site on the pets area, but most of them have already sold. There was one guy that I saw that might have one yet, but I don't know the size of it. What size are you hoping to find?
