Well, I tried the multi quote thing, didn't work, I'm sure I'll figure it out in time.
I do remember, the question was, how many chickens do I have? That's a taxing question for a Friday afternoon! Here goes.....
3 roosters, a Welsummer, a silkie, and a golden laced seabright. So actually, maybe that adds up to two?
From McMurray Hatchery in March '11: 4 buff orps out of 5 ordered, one died.
3 brown rosecomb leghorns
3 barred rock
1 cuckoo maran out of 2 ordered, one died this summer
5 redstar
4 EE out of 5 ordered, we culled on this week with a prolapse
We also had three roosters in that order, but we culled them this summer, we had too many roosters.
This spring we got 8 from Heartland hatchery when they came to Tarwaters in Topeka. 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 silkies, the seabright, the Welsummer rooster, oh, an old english game hen, and a buff cochin that didn't make it.
Also this spring my daughter hatched out 7 eggs as a science fair experiment, 4 roosters and 3 hens. The roosters we culled, and that left us with 3 beautiful mutt hens. So let me see if I can add.....Okay, I get 30 out of all that?
The older ones are molting, but the 5 pullets are laying well, and I do get some eggs from the older birds.
And, here's what I remember from what I've read:
Maidenwolf, I hope you can work out a solution to your hawk problem.
Same with your sewer problem, Danz.
Hawkeye, go get your tires!
Kansas Prairie, Scabies?!?! That poor nurse!
Need to get on some supper, and pick up ds2 from a debate tournament across town. It's been a long, strange, week!
