I have a tiny serama at 4 days old that - since hatch- has done this constant loud chirp. Water and food ideal. Temp at 95. Can get away from heat too. Has a friend. I’m perplexed.
I do notice that when I hold it - it stops and lays down in my hand and goes to sleep. Could it be craving human attention? There’s no doubt they’re imprinted. I just don’t want to miss something. Am I overlooking something this chick may be crying for?

Also, brooder is kept immaculate. Chick is in ideal condition. No other signs of distress or illness in this one or any of them. They’re are other brooders in the room. Maybe crying to other babies? Room temp is about 76.

To me 95 is too hot for 4 day babies. I would keep it around 90. Usually loud chirping is a sign of distress but I have raised some perfectly happy and healthy chicks that just craved human interaction and were just very vocal lol that chick is now the one that runs to me when she sees me come outside and has to jump on me lol

Awesome. I’ll drop the temp a bit and see if that helps. I suspect it’s just attention. I can handle that. Thanks so much.
