Constant, loud parties in the brooder

Ha! Peacocks are a piece of cake! They are MUCH quieter than the raucous band of hooligans to the north of their pen who begin sounding reveille at 4:00 a.m. Hardly a honk out of them.

We are blessed to have 7 acres and have been here for 25 years. All 250 neighbors who moved into subdivision surrounding our 'compound' knew (or would have known if they had rolled down the car windows) what they were getting into.

I must admit the occasional screaming peacock during the spring has prompted one old dude to call and complain. He was too scared to leave his name or number... he thought we were mis-treating the chickens because he's never heard one call out in distress like that.

We had a visit from Animal Control the next day. Buckwheat the Guard Pig met him at the truck. The next day he brought us a huge pink pig and tried to unload the thing before I got outside. I know it was a "dump and run". I made him load her up and take her back! What kinda joint does he think I'm running???

I bet that subdivision has street lights too, makes ya wonder who their afraid of. Are you joking about the pink pig? thats too sad that someone gave their pig up to animal control... even though the way explained it is very funny. Might have made Buckwheat a good friend..Our daughter lives in Roswell, and she thinks thats the country

Chick busters would be the ideal ones to call diva, we'll keep that in mind

News flash the subliminal uprising has spread to Florida. This morning I found overturned feeders and a waterer. Deep dust bath bowls in the shavings all the way to the sand. Cigarette buts, beer cans and an item that looked like some sort of strange G-string.

I thought the brooder parties had ended when I moved them to the grow out stall. Up on cleaning the brooder I discovered the entire bottom coated in what appeared to be crumble cookie dough. I had cleaned it the day before and couldn't believe this could have happened overnight. These sweet 5wk old fuzz butt juvies have corupted my 9 wk olds.. I should have seen it coming. So far the 12 wk olds have not joined in.

I'm afraid to go out to the barn tomorrow.

I just found 3 ruffians running amok outside the fence this morning.

After their last 'unfortunate incarceration' they were sentenced to House Arrest. Somehow they slipped their ankle monitors off and attached them to Buckwheat the Guard Pig. Now he thinks he's a trend-setter...his comment to the Gwinett Daily News was "Hey, if it's good enough for Lindsay Lohan, it's good enough for Buckie." Details at 11.

My worst fears have been realized...this take-over has become interspecific!!!!

I'm glad you brought the newsletter to our attention Miss Lydia! Congrats Sheila on your celebrity status and thank you so much for bringing this problem to our attention. I am beginning to wonder if this is becoming a national security problem. I had to turn off my brooder light last night to get those darn youngsters to stop practicing their ninja tricks and go to sleep. Oh my goodness, but they were whooping it up. I just had to pull the plug on them!
