Yeah After I posted that I had done the same thing. I wondered what they could have possibly have been doing with the thermometer.

When I first walked in the room they were huddled around it. I got that picture as they were all getting up. After that they all ran to the brooder annex.

Ok, I am new to chickens, so new that I do not even have my chicks yet. I am starting to get really nervous. Military family & we live outside of Fort Bragg NC. Should I be worried about Airborne Buff Orpington chicks or Special Operations chicks? Just how far has this chick takeover gone?
