Have new chicks coming in a couple weeks. Three years ago I raised 21 in my garage before moving them outside.

Since then I have gotten into rock tumbling and have three tumblers, with 2/3 running most of time. One of them (vibratory) is pretty loud. The noise is constant. No sudden bangs, pops, etc. Just a constant drone. Think this will adversely affect their development?

I would get a decibel checker (even just the phone app version) and then you can google it…my quick google looks like over 85db has been demonstrated to decrease their feed intake 🤔.

Check the levels both near the machine and across the room/where the brooder will go. If it is too loud, you could consider putting up a little DIY temp cardboard and/or styrofoam wall between the loud tumbler and their brooder to dampen it a bit. Or taking a break from the rock tumbling for a few weeks/running it outdoors when the weather permits. 🤷‍♀️
