But since you asked... It isn't completely finished in this picture. I later painted the flowers red/orange, but I think it turned out pretty good. Here's a duck one I did a while back. And a simple peacock sketch.

I wouldn't even bake if I still lived in England Victoria sponges, all the way! Our stuff in America is just too different to pull it off well.

You lived in England? Where about? I know, I'm nosey Victoria sponges are just delicious! Because they are so light airy you can eat the whole cake and it doesn't feel like you have eaten a bazillion calories

Yup. American stuff is way too sweet. I scrape off icing and decorations.
I lived near Bury St Edmunds for 3 years. My hubby was a local boy. He's now Americanized lol
For holidays here i'll do a sunday dinner type meal or steak and kidney for my son's birthday dinner. Hubby hates our American BBQ's and holiday meals. I keep trying to convert him but if it hasn't happened after living here for 15years it probably will not ever.

It is also near Newmarket.. Going through Newmarket oh wow at the beautiful horses that they would be walking down the roads. My hubby isn't a horsey guy but I love them. What I seen of England I loved. It's a gorgeous country.

Yorkshires..yumm. It's nearly impossible to make them with American flour. We never have figured out the difference but I have tried all brands and types. Hubbies parents used to send up care packs using American military air base mail but they have moved to Cornwall and no longer send them I miss prawn cocktail crisps and fudge (candy bar). Christmas I go to world market and get stuff for hubby like salad cream, branston pickle and chocolates. Him and my daughter are currently threatening to eat each other's package of chocolate digestives I bought today. haha if I only get one pack it's war in this house. So, we can get some English foods here and we can special order others from online. Our flour makes a horrible sponge too. So many things are just not the same. I found a recipe for bangers online using American ingredients. One day I'll surprise hubby with my attempt or kill him..either or, depends on which day and how grumpy he is that day.

here is an American Yorkshire pudding recipe. Also, I find certain recipes that work where my mother-in-law lives on the temperate rainforest area of costal Oregon won't work up here in the semi arid eastern Montana. Vice versa for her too. If you get the chance, turkey eggs whip up so very nice for fluffy cakes, and they have rich thick yolks. Best ever German chocolate cake!! Also have made Parkin cake for November 5th, just because I like gingerbread and it's an excuse to teach my kids about a bit of ancestry, although my English ancestors came over probably 200-400 years ago.....

Very pretty! I love hummingbirds a lot. They were my great grandfathers favorite bird, he'd get up early every morning so he could watch them come to their feeders with a cup of coffee in his hand. I bet having ducks gives you daily inspiration! You do have great talent.

I dunno what it is, besides colored sugar! I just saw that it said "edible" and tossed it in the cart. Not even sure if I'll use it yet. Notice, not a chocolate thing in sight!!

The straw part in the bag looks like what I found - mine states it's made from potatoes - it has flavor, but texture is like eating real grass or hay

Good idea to leave out the chocolate, somehow the chocolate candy seems to get eaten before and after going it the entry, the non-chocolates last a along time and are left alone til all the chocolate disappears
