Gorgeous! I want one so bad! Do they tend to stay around the homestead (do they fly) or do they need to be penned?

Many people can and have successfully free-range peafowl. It just depends on your setup and if you raised the birds up from chicks or not. You should come check out the peafowl section if you are interested in getting peafowl: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/51/peafowl

Peafowl do fly so if you pen them they need netting over their aviary. When they free-range they roost very high up in trees and early in the morning it is fun to get up and watch them glide down from the trees.

Right now is the breeding season so lots of people will be selling eggs, chicks, and adults.
