Sunflower Peep Cake with chocolate chips in the center! :D

does it have to have chickens on it?, or could I put candy ducks on it? I have food allergies and was wondering, could I use fondant instead of store-bought candy?

As I understand the rules, it has to be easter themed and it has to be edible, so as long as it fits those two stipulations, I think the sky is the limit.

I let the peeps take over the hen house for a day...our girls weren't too mad, just real curious!

Originally I had planned to put jelly beans beside the "laying peep" but the kids ate them all before I got around to taking the picture...It didn't warrant another run to the store, so I thought, "What else would a marshmallow chick lay?" Mini marshmallows!!

Fondant is fine, as are candy ducks.

Yep. Edible and Easter/Spring themed.

Here are my 2 entries for the edible Easter candy theme:
after taking pics of my REAL chicks discovering the traditional Easter Bread with real eggs (hard boiled first) baked into the bread,I realized my chicks aren't edible...but boy were those pics cute!
Here are the edible chicks discovering grandma's bread...(now my job to bake it every year.) AND some Russell Stover chocolate covered marshmallow eggs! Yummy, c'mon guys!!

edited: Marcopolo, it is a sweeter yeast bread with evap. milk, yellow food coloring, oil, sugar, along with many eggs and lots of flour. You place hard boiled eggs in it like the bread is a basket and bake them right with the bread....my all Italian grandmother used to make it, then my mom and her siblings (7 of them) and now me...maybe some of my many cousins do too, not sure..it has been an Easter tradition for all of my 51 years and before that, I'm sure.
