They are so stinky! Is it true that keeping the bucks away from the does makes better tasting milk? (Goat milk that I have had always tastes like the bucks smell.

)

The first goat milk I ever tasted was horrible!! Tasted like I took a bite out of the goat hair...

Then I went to a goat dairy, and the milk was great! Couldn't tell it was goat's milk... The dairy people said ti all has to do with how the milk is collected and stored. Apparently, you need to chill it very quickly.

A friend of mine got a goat because her son has an allergy to cow's milk. She is ultra particular about how she cleans the udder and has a glass jug waiting in ice in the sink to pour the milk into ASAP. Her's didn't taste bad, but it is very thick...

We got over 7 inches out where we are at last THursdzy. In town they got 3.1 inches and it was a new record.
