Recently moved my MIL to an adult care facility. She had a King Charles that needed a home. He stayed with us for a couple of weeks until my folks came up to get him. Try as I might I couldn't get him to come when called. When he got to my folks they had the same problem. Turns out the dog is deaf. MIL had had him for 8 years and never known. He is quickly learning sign language. They have a deaf cat also.
