Sassy has begun to stay in her coup after I remove her egg. She still puffs and purrs. I have placed her in the run. She eats and drinks a little, then heads right back to her coop and sits. I found her this morning sitting on another chicken's egg after I removed hers. I removed it and she sat right back down. She will stay in her coup for hours.
This behavior has just occurred within the last week.

If her eggs are infertile, try and find some fertile eggs. Even one fertile egg will make her happy. I had the same thing happen to me and got some fertile eggs off craigslist (put on craigslist what you want them for and you may get a few free). Two hatched and she was the happiest hen around.

She is broody! If you don't want her to hatch chicks or don't have fertilized eggs, look up how to break a broody on the site! :)

Welcome to BYC!
She sure sounds broody....how long is this been happening?
Is she staying on the nest all night too?

Sounds broody. If you don't have fertilized eggs or want her to hatch any you'll have to break her. I have had luck just kicking mine out of the nest box all day until they stop but you may also have to separate her and put her into an isolated place (no nesting material) until she's over it.
