Controlling flies using bags of water.

I have noticed the flies really avoid places I have just sprayed Fly Die,

I get those fly predators from spalding but have not seen a change. The flys are really bad this year with all the water we have been getting I am at my wits end I keep putting out fly tape and changing it after it rains. I keep my pens and coops clean but flies are still everywhere. I am going to try the baggie idea.

Just got a post from a friend I sent it to. They say that they use Spalding Fly Control. You send for it and it comes in the mail. You just hang the bag up, open it, and let them hatch out. They live 21 days and do not reproduce. All they do is look for fly larvae to eat.

We used to get them for our horse manure pile. Then I added free ranging chickens. They really enjoyed them.

I visited a restaurant a couple of years ago which is situated above a river. It has very large doors which are left open during good weather. There were bags of water hanging at the entrances and no flies to be seen. That sold me.

Baggies of water have been used for many years here in the southeast- they work probably 80% of the time. Hang them at about 6-7 feet.

Cheap and non-toxic.
