Well, We didn't try to figure out the buffs from the ones he collected today- we just put them in the frig.

He's a great kid. Most mornings, he gets up, gets his clothes on, lets the dog out, and goes and opens the coop and checks food and water. Many times, after he does that stuff, I look around for him and he's out shoveling the driveway (even as ineffective as he is at it.

) He does all this without being asked.

Sweet, great, wonderful kid you have there. Now, get your own chickens. And send you little guy to me, in SoCal we do not have the snow issues! I promise he will love it here, my niece will teach him to surf, my kids will get him into music/band, and he will see more sun here then there...

just let me know when he will arrive at Lindbergh field, we will be there.

No way! He's my little helper. I plan to get a lot more work out of him before he turns 14 and useless. You can have him after that!

He sounds alot like my son who just turned 6. We've got chicks hatching today and the first thing he said was "can I claim them". lol I've ordered him his own eggs to hatch for Easter.

Now I think the boy has a point. You need more birds Jared.

Does he know his breeds good, too?
Mine can tell you from day old chicks, to full grown on most standard breeds.
Black Astrolorps, Buff Orkingtons (that's how she says it), Easter Eggers, Rhode Island Reds, White Leghorns, Brahmas and then the game birds.
And she'll tell you in no uncertain terms, a peahen is a girl, and the peacock is the boy! She scares me sometimes with how much information she gathers. lol
I'm dreading when she starts school next year. Her older sister has already had me sent to school this year to straighten out what she's told her teachers and principal about what's gone on with our birds. Sad thing, she was right, they just thought she didnt know what was going on. Yes, she did eat rattlesnake for dinner last night! Yes, she did watch an owl get electrcouted on the telephone line, and yes, she did eat green eggs. lol

And here I've been sad about the fact that he starts SCHOOL this fall. Then you have to go remind me that someday he'll get married and LEAVE me!
