Thanks...Yes, my hubby travels into NYC every day. For him to spend 5-6 weekends working on a coop would drive him crazy. He isn't really skilled in that area. We live upstate so the traveling takes a long time.Don't be talked into building one if you are not skilled for that. The money savings is only if you consider your time worth zero dollars. I built my own house and let me tell you building a coup was a chore for me. I spent 5 or 6 weekends to get it completely done! It was a lot more work than I ever thought it would be. Oh....and I am a computer programmer too!
We consider our time worth more than nothing. LOL Also we are older parents...my hubby is 47 and I'm 43, so building a coop when it's not his specialty is out of the question.
Living in NY means that everything is so expensive.
The reason I liked the shed is that in order to buy a coop that can house 15-20 full sized chickens in our area, is over $2000.00....and this would be a bare bones coop.
So the 900.00 doesn't seem like alot..esecially because adding in nesting boxes and some roosts should be easy for us.
